I had the shakshuka with mini Meatballs ($15 altogether, with the $4 upcharge) that had a really flavorful tomato sauce. It came with these buttery Flatbread that were SO good - so buttery and a nice texture that we used to dip with the tomato sauce. My main complaint was that the Meatballs were overcooked so it was dry to eat. I'd come back though to try the other dishes.

Ordered a Tangier omelette and lentil soup via GrubHub today. I can't comment on the soup because it's for dinner later, but the omelette was disappointing: seasoning in the eggs and potatoes was solid, but the avocadoes were overripe/very browned. Someone sliced this up and decided, yep, this avocado is the one for this paid service. Clearly this place has been amazing for many folks, given the stellar review record, so I understand I may have just received an off order. As of right now, though, I don't plan to order from here again.

Merzouka is a neighborhood cafe serving Moroccan dishes in a casual, rustic setting. From the breakfast menu, the Shakshuka was a tomato stew made with chili peppers, onions, and three poached eggs, served with grilled pita bread on the side. The Moroccan Meatball Platter came with four grilled kefta (spiced ground beef) patties, along with pita and three different salads: beets, cucumber/tomato, and carrots. The meatballs were on the greasy side, but each of the marinated salads was tasty and refreshing. Overall, the food here was decent for what it was, though nothing about it really stood out in particular.

Every visit so far, the food has been delicious. The Merzouka platter is a great start to try if it's your first time.

I love this place so much! My husband and I enjoy the Fez sandwich as well as the Casablanca and their mint iced tea.Supposedly the place is Zabiha halal, but I haven't seen any signs that say so. I'm trusting the owner on his word.Regardless, the place is cute, food is AMAZING, and the service is lovely.

This place is a gem!!! I've ordered from here many times before. And just an FYI - prices are cheaper if you call in and order compared to ordering from Doordash. Most frequent orders: Moroccan burger (my go-to!). Used to be $6.95, and price increases to $7.95. It's $8.95 via Doordash. A very good burger that's super flavorful and decently healthy! Merzouka platter - my husband's go-to. Includes amazing sides that are decently healthy! If note, price increased from $10.95 to $12.50 recently.

Perfect spot for a good lunch or a light dinner. I always get the Mediterranean Taco and my spouse enjoys their Moroccan Garden Salad and we trade bites. We have a tradition where we get this before every road trip we take as it has a tendency to hit the spot without taking the pep out of our step :) The Iced Moroccan Mint Tea is also a wonderful treat. Definitely one of those spots that the two of us can agree on even if we're craving different things.

I wish I took a picture of the food but my husband and I were hungry and it smelled and looked so good we dug in and didn't think of a picture until after.First I would like to say the pictures of the menu are a bit outdated. The prices are a bit higher than what you see in the pics. Again something I should've taken a pic of but forgot. However, I find the prices are still fair and the food was delicious and worth the price. We ordered their chicken platter. The portion was good and the food was delicious. The spices are done so well and you can tell the food was fresh. True Moroccan flavor. We also ordered the Moroccan mint tea. We did have a picture of it. This was the only tea I have had that reminded me of my visit to Morocco and the tea I drank there. Even the places on Steinway never really had it this close to what I've had in my time in Casablanca. I definitely plan to go back even if it is just for their cup of mint tea.We did eat inside after we showed our vaccination cards so you do need to be vaccinated to sit inside. It's a small quaint place. Don't judge the size or look though because as I said I feel the food and tea is worth it. At least from what hubs and I have tried. My husband is from Morocco and he truly enjoyed the food so this is coming from someone who knows how the food should taste. You won't get the food in the tagine due to covid reasons so the food will be given in an aluminum platter so it can be thrown out or taken home if you want to take it with you.Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Not all delicious food is on Steinway lol. This place is on crescent Street. When we went we did find parking across the street but it isn't guranteed but no parking is in these parts of Astoria anyway.

Family owned hole in the wall. Service is non existent and the place is a bit old and dirty, but the food we got was nothing short of amazing and delicious. I tried the burger and I would highly recommend it

This place was recommended by my friend. I was told it was amazing and after going there and experiencing it. I can tell you that it was and you will not regret experiencing anything from here. Also would highly suggest you try out the donut(sfing). It is simply delicious!! Can't wait to come back

Moroccan Meatball Platter was quite good, really fresh veggies and really nicely season meatballs. Pita was buttery and crispy snd fresh as well. Service was good and a great choice for a weekend lunch.
