Regarding food, they said they only had a small bar pie, and that limited menu sort of gave me the impression that it was probably frozen and heated up, so I passed on the food and just enjoyed a beer and the atmosphere. “It’s an old bank turned into restaurant. They still keep all the wonder features from the bank. One of the managers Sean gave us a tour and it was thrilling to see everything up close.Food is impeccable. I had Bronzino. Crispy skin and tender insider. Seared perfectly. We also had wine appetizer dessert. I liked all of them.Service is great. Upon arrival for our reservation, no waiting time. It does get a little loud when the place is full. Great place for dates, hangouts and family gatherings.“

“We ate here for the first time on Mother's Day and luckily we were able to order off the regular menu which had something for everyone. Our server did a great job waiting on our table as well as several other large parties so we never felt neglected. We ordered wine, appetizers, and main courses. All of our guests said their appetizers and entrees were great especially the fish/seafood dishes with one exception. A member of our party ordered a scallop/shrimp special which arrived with only 2 shrimp and 2 scallops on the plate with pasta for $39. It was a tasty dish but they could have at least given 3 shrimp and 3 scallops. Appy's worth mentioning: baked clams, grilled octopus, shishito peppers. Outstanding entrees: halibut and sea bass specials, and seafood pasta. We didn't stay for dessert as we planned on having that at home. This was a good find to try out on a less busy night - we will definitely be back.“

“Great local vibes here with a solid food and drink menu. Great service as well. Outdoor seating in the warmer months. My only knock is the noise. They have brick walls in the inside which don't absorb sound. It gets loud when crowded, which makes conversation a challenge. Something to consider if that's important you. Also, live music can be very loud. I wish they'd dial the volume down a tad on their speakers.“

Food was the usual good greasy type except HUGE portions! My cheesesteak was large and tasty as well as my girl's grilled chicken sandwich... def get your moneys worth! Service was spotty but acceptable but then again it's a hometown pub, what do you expect? Stop in on Thursday nights for the live Jazz, saves a trip into the city!!“

“The avocado blt was awesome. Pretty good air filtration for smoking a cigar. That can be a big issue with some places. 15$ cut fee at first was questionable but i get it, its nice not to have a bunch of bums coming in and not spending just to smoke. You could also just buy a cigar for a little over 20 and that counts.Love when a bartender can read your body language when you want to have a conversation and when you don't.Will def be coming back.“

“Fire & Oak came recommended by the local cemetery after the sudden death of my 19-year-old son. The caretakers explained to us the importance of a repast, which is a gathering of mourners to assure the families are fed after the process. I am so glad they steered us to the right place. Joshua the manager, was so attentive to my needs. I wasn't familiar in planning for something like this and he made sure this process was painless. We did the buffet in the private rooms. The staff was outstanding and the food was impeccable. I will be forever grateful to Fire & Oak for their undivided attention. Many thanks to the entire team.“

I was last here about 20 years ago but to be honest, like most, I have zero reason to ever be in Verplanck. This evening I was down there and made the immediate decision to dine-in the second I saw their big sign on Broadway. The place looks basically the same as I remember, very neat, clean and of course with a stellar menu. I observed Carmine (at the bar) preparing some amazing looking cocktails! Great service, well priced, friendly staff and great dishes! One thing I want to point out is how the first forkful of my cold antipasto salad appetizer immediately tasted soooo different. I wasn't expecting fresh, 'sharp' provolone -- no sliced ham here kids. Tonight was an unexpected treat! I will again grab my passport and cross the border into Westchester to spend more time here!
