“I walked in and found 2 of the sweetest young women inside. I was immediately by struck by the KARMA that the joint (YES) joint and the LADIES brought with them or inhabits the Cocktail Lounge on a regular basis .”

“Came for brunch and absolutely loved it!! Was so fun to show my parents (visiting from Tokyo) this innovative take on Japanese food :) particularly enjoyed the fresh salads and the miso pancake. The restaurant itself is so beautifully decorated and made for the perfect morning meal ~”

“Walked into this place on a whim because the ratings were so good. I was not disappointed. Every piece of fish was super fresh and delicious. You could tell the chef was excited about his craft and very knowledgeable. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful as well. The chared otoro was a highlight as well as the engawa.
I was a little worried that it would be overpriced but I'd gladly pay again.”

“It was my first time here and it was a lot of fun. The food and drinks were good. Joe was our instructor and he made it easy and stress free. With his moral support I did a lot better. I will definitely be returning.”

“Fantastic speakeasy sushi joint. Very small, no more than an handful of people may join the omasake style bar where 3 talented (and cool) chefs serve you the best crafted sushi you can get. Definitely going back soon.”

“Such a great spot! Not just because of the quality masa, delicious fillings, and casual atmosphere, but they also carry great agave spirits (I had some Amatiteña blanco during my last visit, and even the price point was... *Drum roll ... On point (Thank you! I'll let myself out).”

“We had a nice time, and the food was good. We were however told to leave as there was another reservation waiting (we were hence offered a drink at the bar which never came), and the doorman got angry at us for opening the door in the wrong way.
So would have been perfect if not for those two departure hick ups sadly.”

“The fluke ceviche is a miracle. The pomegranate and fluke combination simply explodes in the mouth. The Basmati rice a triumph. Who knew crispy scallions could do this? The dirty chai crème brûlée orgasmic alongside the coconut sorbet... incredible!!”

“Great take on Lu rou fan (minced pork and rice), excellent scallion pancakes and awesome dessert (Tian miantuan) that was like a sandwich of sweet fried dough, golden sesame ice cream and condensed milk (plus cilantro and butter dried peanuts)! Great beverages as well such as the slightly sweetened Jasmine iced tea and Sanzo (lychee & calamansi) sparkling water products!”

“Absolutely fantastic. Everything was outstanding. Sadly, I wish I had saved room for the flourless chocolate cake. Rest assured I’m heading back on my next visit to NYC and will not leave without dessert.”

“Honestly, a stunning gem of a neighborhood restaurant. I loved their beet salad with dates, the dates were so soft and juicy. The pork chop was very good, but just a little bit dry for my taste. The desserts were smashingly good, we had the olive oil cake with cream in a prune sauce, as well as the coffee mousse. Would highly recommend!”

“5 stars are not enough to tell you how good this place is. We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!”

“A warm welcoming place offering French Creole cuisine from Reunion island. A compact menu offering very reasonably priced apps and mains, and a lot of lentil and rice. Ordered the sampler though a few items we wanted were out. Tender coconut shrimp and beef Bourguignon entrees were excellent. We were well taken care of by the staff.”

“Neighborhood gem. Great decor, homey, comfortable but well appointed. I have dined here alone and with family, both times it was a good atmosphere. GM Michael is really good and runs a good staff. The food is delicious- good for all types of diet restrictions. Fresh ingredients well prepared. Last but not least also great cocktails. Host and server were friendly and attentive. I will for sure be coming back here!”

“Hart's has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Brooklyn. I arrived right at opening (5:30pm) and was seated at the bar immediately. It's super convenient if you're coming off the A/C. The playlist was great and the vibe was calm and unhurried.
The food is where Hart's really shines. The roast oysters with vermouth butter and horseradish were the standout of the night, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of kick. The savoy cabbage with serrano ham and borlotti beans was homey and comforting. The clam toast with pancetta was deeply savory and something I'd come back for on its own. The seafood rice was the one dish that didn't quite land for me. Not bad, just the least memorable of the bunch.
Highly recommend”

“I stopped in here with a group of 4 on Saturday for brunch, our group had a reservation and was seated promptly. The server came to our table not to long after we were seated and took our drink orders. We ordered beers, coffees and Bloody Marys ,which were the star of the show. As for food we ordered the chicken Caesar sandwhich, quiche, chicken liver pate, gigante beans, pancakes and chips with aioli. The star of the show was the chicken liver pate, it had a great rich savory flavor with a hint of sweetness and was served on a nice soft piece of sourdough. The Scottie Pippen of the food order had to be the pancakes, they were savory and sweet with a hint of lemon. The only weak link of the bunch was the under seasoned gignate beans, which had an off day. Would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a brunch spot in WB or Greenpoint.”
