I'm one of the original customers. Yes, I am old. Ages ago, S &S was a well kept secret in the catering world. I truly believe they set the standard. My Father was in the food business, and he would bring home the GIANT cheesecakes for parties and family events. It was a special treat. As an adult, I lived with my wife in Riverdale. The coffee here was very good but the cheesecake was alright. For a place that pride's itself for it's cheesecake they can do better. The crust was lackluster and the cake itself is not as rich as it can be. It's a 6.5 out of 10 compared to be the best that NYC has to offer. If I was in the neighborhood I would swing by maybe but I am not going out of my way to grab a slice. I do like the owner, the people here and the calm friendly environment. Hence the 4 out of 5 stars.

Having grown up in New Jersey. I was stoked to find frozen juniors at my local Costco for one time. My husband sent an S&s one here in Seattle for Mother's Day. The texture is amazing. I'm guessing in person it could be even better. I'm not sure about the crust, but the cheesecake itself is so amazing it doesn't matter!
