Anella used to be one of my favorite places in all of NYC! But they got a new chef and now the menu, along with the prices, have changed. Their food was so great that I’d honestly be open to paying more, but not when the food isn’t as good. Bring back some of the favorite pastas from the dinner menu and the chicken biscuit! I used to tell everyone that Anella had the very best chicken biscuit in town. But alas, no more. Many recent reviews are saying similar things so I really hope they listen. When they do, I’d be happy to return and recommend them again!

Anella is a wonderful spot in Greenpoint!! They were great to work with to plan a large group (about 30 people) dinner in the garden. Aaron was super helpful over email and on the phone while planning. The food was delicious (as always) and the service during the night was awesome - super attentive / friendly. I highly recommend for brunch or dinner, but can now also confidently recommend for a special event.

Exceptional pasta… fresh… sauce was delicate and tasty. Slider … cooked to perfection … drink prepared perfectlyAnd finally the service met the perfection of the food.Ambiance not overpowering. Outside garden is a real pearl in the neighborhood.

Quality food, excellent service Comfortable space I understand the pasta is freshly made every day. And it shows in the quality of all the pasta dishes.

I used to LOVE anella. It was two blocks away and such a cozy vibe. I am really disappointed by the new menu. The watermelon salad was more a watercress salad with 2 tiny watermelon slices for $18.The pasta limone was very average, not much flavor. Everything seemed really heavy and fall like for being the heat of the summer. Pasta was nothing like their old rigatoni or cacio e Pepe. Also I ordered a beer wanting to get the fried chicken but wasn’t told they were out of that until after I already had my drink. They should have started with what foods they didn’t have so you could adjust drinks accordingly.Overall really disappointed. Maybe will try the brunch since that looks good but won’t come for dinner again unless I see a menu change again.

Booked days in advance, specifically requested a table inside (heatwave season). Showed up and they did not have a table in the air conditioned section and seated us in the non air conditioned section next to an open door. Waiter apologized but offered no solution. In fact said that “they hoped the people who were at our table would sit outside”. Wow. During a heatwave. Nonsense. Unprofessional and inconsiderate. We ended up eating at Esme - strongly recommend it!!!

Quality of the food and service has taken a nosedive. It's a shame for a restaurant that was so good for so many years.

3.5/5. Dishes are interesting - while they were tasty, I wish they were more customizable, as it's harder to eat healthy here. Nonetheless, the food was good. Service is satisfactory, I have no complaints but it was nothing spectacular. The interior is OK but the garden area is lovely -- if you are able to secure seating outside, I would highly recommend. Would like to see another milk option outside of oat and whole milk. For those who drink beer, there are two options. Again, would like to see more, perhaps 3-4. The cocktail selection, however, is pretty solid. Worth checking out if you are looking for brunch in greenpoint and need a new spot

We loved eating the back outdoor area . The weather was perfect and the Brooklyn vibe was even better . Lots of greenery and everyone member of the staff was smiling and sweet . The rigatoni pasta was so tasty with just the right amount of spicy kick . French fries had a little skin on them just how we like them . Seasoning was really good The bread served in a flower pot is so cute and it keeps it warm. Brilliant . Clean bathrooms and nice spacing between the tables too . Very relaxing energy in this space .

Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! You have to try the short ribs pasta. Love the decor, the outside patio is just perfect. Anella is a small hidden gem in Brooklyn.

Great food. Horrible service. Our waiter was harsh and made such inappropriate comments.

first, the waiter barely spoke. was incredibly rude. it was as though i was annoying him by asking a question. the cotto benedict was liken to a salt lick. gross

Such a cute spot with an adorable outdoor patio. The food was amazing - the broccoli salad for an app was surprisingly delicious. Great spot for a friends dinner or date night!

This is our go-to for brunch whenever we are in Greenpoint. Definitely try the egg biscuit and the lillet cocktail. Dinner is also delicious!
