we had a great dinner last night. First we had a shared mixed appetizer platter which then chicken kebabs , lamb kebabs and moussaka platters. t was all delicious and the portions we large. The dining room is lovely, with white tablecloth, fresh flowers and candles (electri) on rack table. We plan to return next time we are in that neighborhood.

They made us pay for warm sparkling water (they leave it on the table and my fiancé naively opened it, no room for naïveté apparently). Also the moussaka tastes like cinnamon and the chef was extremely hostile (I’m a woman). Shame on this restaurant, a waste of very valuable real estate I hope a new restaurant replaces it (hopefully a good Mexican place).

Athena is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. I overheard a couple talking about it at the grocery store and I am so glad I was snooping. The food it soooo good! The dolmades has the most delicious raisin vinaigrette, all of their meats are tender and juicy ( even the kebabs). The lemon potatoes are heavenly! The specials are always spectacular! Also, my friend is a vegan and she enjoys eating here. It is a family business with recipe’s from the owner’s mother and you can taste the love and care!

She lived nearby and enjoyed going there despite limited mobility, so I thought of them immediately when we were making the arrangements. I don't usually write reviews, but given the circumstances I wanted to say that the food was wonderful, but what was as important was the high level of service they provided us. Spiro, the owner, made sure to do the delivery himself to make sure it was done right. They arrived on time, the order was correct, and the portions were generous. We truly appreciate what they did for us.

A really great neighborhood spot. Cozy dining room with a nice vibe and excellent service. The chicken souvlaki platter was very fresh and well balanced, but the chicken was a bit dry and there were one or two extra chewy pieces. I will come back here to try more items.
