Finally got a chance to get lunch here this afternoon. I got the chicken bento box, which comes in a small takeaway container and has a protein, two rice balls, and two sides. It is deceiving because it is definitely very filling, comes with more chicken than shown in the picture (was under the sides and balls)I was a little worried because some of the reviews said the flavors were lacking, however, as someone who loves overly flavored food, I can say the food delivered! Did not seem under seasoned at all. I got the Ume plum paste and the scallion rice balls, both were delicious and had flavor throughout. The chicken was so delicious, can tell they have it marinating in the sauce for a while. I got the Gomaae and Hijiki for sides, both were great. Overall highly recommend! Cute quaint neighborhood spot!

Good vibes bad food. I ordered the tofu bento box and the tofu was cold with a soggy deep fried coating and no flavor. The rice balls also had soggy disintegrating nori and the fillings were just so so. The sides I ate were good and the tea was pretty standard. I liked the lamp in the seating area it was cute. However there are several other Japanese shops in the neighborhood that sell better food.

I was craving some japanese food and noticed this store near the place I was staying in in Brooklyn. The store is small and located in a neighborhood area; its easy to miss. There are a few seats inside the store. The one thing that sold me about this store was that they had brown rice onigiris. Rice, slightly on the healthier side. I ordered two onigiris and a side. The onigiris made me full, and the side was okay. I'll return if I'm in the area, but probably not worth a trek to go to. It was slightly pricey, as onigiri is 95% rice and 5% seasoning

Quality of food good. Service and atmosphere are not up to standard. No bathroom, not very helpful. The vibe is just off over there. Too bad cause the food is quite good. Maybe just takeaway?

The rice balls lacked filling. The photos show a lot of filling on the outside, but once you open them up it’s like a light dusting. Left there hungry after eating 3 wads of pretty much just

My partner and I hit that weird time where it was too late for a big lunch but way too early for dinner. We came to rice and miso, got a two rice balls each (tuna and salmon) and a miso soup. This was the perfect amount of food that left us feeling good but not overly stuffed! Neither of us could decide which rice ball we preferred, they were both tasty. The miso soup was different than any other miso soup I've had before. The inside is small but very nice and has a few place to sit. They also have some seating outside if it's not too chilly for you!

It's a small quaint casual spot with some seating indoors and 2 chairs outdoors. I got the beef and salmon onigiri to go. I received my onigiris pretty quickly shortly after placing the order. The onigiris are made with brown rice. Not the same as the 7/11 onigiris from Japan, but it will do for a light healthy lunch or snack to fill you up.

Made a quick pit stop for a bite and the food was relatively decent. It can feel claustrophobic inside so finding a seat when the house is full can feel snug. They make the onigiris with brown rice, but they hardly have any filling. With the plume onigiri, for example, it was more like a garnishment. This place showed signs of gentrification. When I was here, some tech people from LinkedIn started talking aloud about their work, so I thought I was in SF for a second.

4 stars, probably closer to 4.25.Rice and Miso is a fast casual place that boasts health and portions. The inside has limited seating, but people are in and out in 15 minutes or so. All of their bentos come with 2 standard onigiris and 2 sides which are displayed on the counter. The onigiris are pleasantly warm and made with brown rice (which I actually prefer). I chose the salmon and tuna mayo for my chicken bento. The tuna mayo was great, but the salmon was overly salty. The chicken itself is super tender and well cooked. They give a decent amount of chicken too, which I really appreciate. The sides are really cold, but are flavorful. I got the butternut squash and the wakame salad, but would probably try something else next time.

High quality - delicious and nutritious- a rare feat. The chicken bento box with the lemon scallion sauce is tops. All sides are great but I’m partial to the green beans and squash. The beef and original onigiris are flavorful. Great lunch spot.
