Such an old school (in the best way) vibe. My Mom grew up in the neighborhood and I remember going there as a kid, then we moved away. Going back as an adult brought back such memories of going there as a kid! Still felt like going home 30+ years later!

This is what authentic old school Italian is all about!! I don’t know what was better: the food or the owner, Louis. No frills, the food speaks for itself. The veal parmigiana was fantastic and the pizza is one of my top three in the city. If you like anchovies, get the pizza the way Louis recommends: anchovies, tomato sauce, garlic, no mozzarella. The crust holds its own with a nice char, light dough, and crisp.Louis treats everyone like family. As he brought out each course, Louis would tell us stories about the old neighborhood, his family, or his time in Italy.A staple in the neighborhood, safe to say they have a regular in me!-Nick and Steph

We ordered takeout pizza from Sam's tonight to eat during our 20-minute gap between a piano lesson and a movie. We were informed by the gruff man in the front to pick up the pizza in the back. After picking up our pizza, we asked if we could eat at one of the many empty tables in the restaurant (there were only two occupied tables). The same gruff man told us no, that takeout orders had to leave, despite the large availability of tables to sit at and the fact that we'd only be there for about 15 minutes. The pizza was fine. Not the worst I've had in the city; not the best. The restaurant is dated and dark and and not welcoming. We will buy our pre-movie pizza elsewhere from now on.

Great red sauce Italian spot. Enjoyed the ravioli with tomato sauce and the veal with mushrooms. Cash only and friendly service. It was in a woody Allen movie too

Visited from DC and had a great dinner here. We don’t really have these kind of old school Italian restaurants down our way so it was a real treat - delicious and reasonably priced food with laid back but friendly service. Was nice not to feel rushed and just be able to relax and enjoy the food and wine. It seemed like most of the other people who came in were regulars which also made us feel like it was a good authentic spot. Definitely a gem

My entire family has been dining here for years. The food is authentic and delicious. Louie makes this place special. Only complaints: Can get pretty warm inside and the bathrooms need to be deep cleaned. But, you cannot fault any of the food. Best restaurant on Court Street!

Very old school Italian place with classic red sauce dishes such as meatballs, chicken parm and ziti. Went here for a bday and had to sit in a tight booth even though there was an empty table but the guy who took our order was very friendly. Ordered the plain pizza, chicken parm, meatballs with ravioli, and baked ziti. Chicken was very tender and cooked perfectly, enough to feed two. Baked ziti and ravioli were also a hit. The pizza was the crowd favorite, comes out steaming hot and has a good crust. Cash only!
