Overall a pretty good experience here on a busy Thursday night. Upscale vibe, very nicely designed, and most seats are within booths, making things more intimate. The food itself is kosher/dairy/Italian but elevated and modern (most reminiscent of Cipriani). There were some service and other issues, but the fundamental premise is good. Trendy crowd, great location, good food.We ordered family style, got eggplant rolatini, hen of the woods (grilled mushrooms topped with parmesan and pesto), and the mushroom salad (more of arugula topped with charred mushrooms and farro). We also got two pizzas, the dough of which was very impressive and made me think what kind of oven they have back there. We got Margherita and, you guessed it, more mushroom and goat cheese (which was excellent, and topped with truffle oil). The tuna steak came with a peppercorn crust and red wine glaze that was excellent, even good well done. Branzino was very good as well. The fettuccine Limone was good, reminiscent of Lil Frankie's, but with some kind of green mixed in. Overall a heavy emphasis on mushrooms, but we didn't mind. The real critique here is that they seemed to be missing a maitre'd or real manager to handle the crowds that were coming in at 9pm. The staff was hardworking, but unprofessional. They first told us we didn't have a reservation (although we put down our credit card), then told us our 9pm reservation was made for 9:15. Recommend using Resy, OpenTable or a similar service. There seemed to have been 3 different groups all with a 9pm reservation, and only a single open table. We had a reservation for 7, but they seated us on a 6 seated table. They asked us "tap, bottled or sparkling" - we said tap, but they kept bringing us bottled. $37 for 5 bottles, or $49 with tax and mandatory 20% tip. Would not happen at a more professional establishment. Could use some work here.Cost was $160 per couple including tax and tip for family style, sharing mains and a bottle of wine. Not bad and pretty good value. Dessert was excellent, especially the ice cream brownie thing.

Delicious food and great atmosphere! The fish and pasta are the best in Brooklyn. The other reviewers who are mad when they walk in without a reservation and are told they can't be seated don't seem to understand that this is a small restaurant with limited seating. Just because you see some empty tables doesn't mean they are available. If you didn't make a reservation, don't be surprised if you're seated at the bar, especially on a Thursday or Sunday night. It never bothered me to be seated at the bar because I understood when I walked in without a reso that I may not even be seated.

This was the worst experience i have encountered at a restaurant. The owner/manager is evil and has no business being in this industry. And to follow up on her response to my review, the manager approached me with a very mean comment. I nicely told her that i m not gonna take space or chair i’ll move to seat on a bench next to my friend. The guys who set next to me told her they don’t mind either. I m attaching a photo of how much space there was in btw me and the guys next to us. I thought we made it work. Out of nowhere the owner came back and started talking to me in the nastiest way. I responded to her nicely and told her: “ i made arrangements to leave my kids at home so that i can come here, could you please let me stay?” She looked at me and yelled: “ i dont care that you left your kids at home”. She then instructed her staff not to serve me. When my 7 months pregnant friend came up to her to ask her why i m not getting served, the. Woman told her; “get away from me” and gave her the hand gesture to leave. The couple next to us told her that before we came, she was fighting with them for no reason. Finally, after 20 min someone brought me my drink. What kind of human being talks like this to paying customers? Who tells a pregnant person: get away from me? Reading the rest of reviews about this woman, it appears almost everyone complains about her. Time for an attitude adjustment!

Such a bad experience, where to begin? Let's start from when you walk in: 1. You come in and there's no host to greet you. The owner is standing behind the bar not caring customers are waiting. Instead the waiter is also the host 2. One waiter for entire restaurant - This guy has been there forever and disgusting manners. Very rude and not attentive at all. No matter how many complaints the owner gets, she still keeps him. 3. CAREFUL! They automatically add 18% gratuity, so they don't care how they treat you. This is exactly why people hate going to kosher restaurants. Hope enough people stop going to it shuts down. Oh and they own the next door restaurant as well called MINT. Don't expect any better Go to sunflower cafe, much nicer

Stay away from this place the host is extremely nasty and so is the owner. She forced me to seat my 5 year old on my lap even though I had a reservation for 4 just so she can seat more adults. This place will close soon because everyone knows you don’t treat people this way in the hospitality business.
