Brick-walled institution in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn serving up spectacular steak and seafood. Incredible old world ambience and can’t say enough of their impeccable service. Overall just an incredible spot to dine in.St. Anselm is most famously known for their signature Angus Butcher’s Steak so if it’s your first visit, this is the absolute must on the menu.

Very limited menu. Nice indoor and covered backyard eating area. Service was nice, friendly and efficient. Just wish they had more of a menu because there was literally only one thing for me to eat and I left starving,

This place has really gone down hill. Steak was too chewy, service was terrible. Dont think I can go here any more.

Best meal I've had ever. And I've been everywhere. Highly recommend.

After dragging my feet returning here after a less than ideal dining experience years ago, my husband demanded a good steak in the neighborhood. We came here last minute on a Sunday and had no trouble securing a table at 6:15 pm in the back heated garden. Service is top notch and the food is protein heavy. We went with the really expensive rib eye (it ain’t cheap but damn is it good), the fried mashed potatoes (omg so decadent), a salad (a girl needs her greens) and a good bottle of red wine. It was an epic meal and, of course, had leftovers. We weren’t rushed snd the food was truly worth every penny and calorie. So yeah, I really like this place! Guess I just had a weird experience a long time ago. We will definitely be back, perhaps with a group so we can indulge a little more. The steak was massive, seriously enough for 4 people and it better be for $4.25 per ounce and it was 66 ounces!! Do the math. #worthit!

Here is my best steak house in Brooklyn. The taste is chewy and harmonious. Eating with pan-fried mashed potato was so delicious. And the staff and vibe are kind. There is Highly recommend it.

The cooks table was great - got to see how busy they were and how they handle it. Butcher cut was amazing- highly recommend it. The prawn was perfect as was the wedge salad & bleu and the pan fried potato is more than enough to share. Restaurant has a nice cozy and settled feel. Went to celebrate my son's 16th birthday and Gabe our waiter was the best you could ask for. He made us feel welcomed, and ensured my son had a night to remember- the chocolate mouse was out of this world. I would drive from Buffalo there again to just eat there!!!

TLDR: A great steakhouse at an affordable price. We started out with the garlic steak, and at 34 dollars per person this was an amazing deal. I recommend getting the peppercorn sauce on the side, as well as the mashed potatoes. If you have any space for dessert- the cheesecake is a must!

Nice little restaurant and servers very nice. However the steaks were mediocre and my chicken dish took so long after my family had finished their entrees. I cancelled it since the server came over and apologized that the oven was not cooking the chicken correctly? Don’t think we will be back but definitely the low score is for the food only.

I’m usually a fan, but after paying $29 for one (1) overcooked large (not as gigantic as they can be) prawn, it seems evident that you can find comparable food at more reasonable prices in the area.

A group of friends and I decided to stop by here for lunch on a Sunday - we had reservations for 12 pm and they were really nice about us being late (we did call in advance to let them know that we will likely be late). For the weekends - they do have special items on the lunch menu which we appreciate. The menu itself is not too big; focusing on a few key items. They are a wine and beer place so if you are a cocktail fan this likely isn't the place for you. It was very rustic vibes with really nice staff. The majority of us got the steak and eggs which was absolutely delicious. The meat was super tender and the potatos were nicely seasoned. For sides we got the Spinach Gratin which was nice and creamy and also the pan fried mash potatos which were also delicious - so crispy and hot. For dessert we all got the affogato - they used regular ice cream instead of gelato but it was still delicious nontheless. Overall good food and really nice staff here; would recommend checking this place out if you are in the neighborhood and in the mood for steak!
