First time at Tambour even though I lived in the neighborhood for years - went on a Friday night at 6:30 pm reservation for dinner and live Jazz. Band was great and the volume was perfect even though we were sitting near the band. Food was good (Branzino and Brussel sprouts) Prices average- We split an entree and app w 2 glasses of wine each - a bit under 120 bucks w tip plus left a donation for the band. A good time overall.

Back in Brooklyn after a year's absence and sought out Tambour again for another great evening of outstanding music in a welcoming and cozy setting. Reasonably priced with excellent service.

My friends and I wanted to try out some place new during my visit to New York. I chose Tambour based on reviews from another review website. I hope that I can spread the word about them via TripAdvisor. We arrived early for our 6 pm reservation, which was a good thing. The restaurant was empty on a Sunday evening. I knew that live music would be happening soon. We were able to enjoy part of our meal before it started. Don’t get me wrong, I really like live music, but I also enjoy being able to have a conversation over dinner. The restaurant is fairly small so the music volume is high. The food: We had the fish, the short rib, and the chicken. Each of us enjoyed our entrees. I also had the Brussels Sprouts appetizer. It was fantastic. I’m glad I didn’t really need to share it with my friend. We enjoyed a delightful bottle of wine. We also had the two desserts on the menu: the cheesecake and the brownie. Both were outstanding. The best part of the brownie is that it is on a bed of peanut butter. This flavor combination means that the chocolate doesn’t become overpowering or too sweet. I am leaving one star off because there wasn’t any coffee available! What the heck??? How can you offer delicious desserts and NOT have any type of coffee? Come on now! Get a Keurig if you don’t feel like brewing actual coffee. I will return at some point in the future, but hopefully there will be coffee available by then.

Tambour exceeded our expectations. I made reservations for to celebrate a friend birthday and it was the best surprise ever. The bar manager was fantastic, she made us feel special and at the same time welcomed. We could not have asked for a better time. The musical guests were amazing, they even included in their performance happy birthday and isn't she lovely by Stevie Wonder to my friend. I can go on and on on what a phenomenal experience it was but you get the drift. Tambour was really an amazing experience that has to be relived.

My husband and I visited tonight for the first time and we absolutely loved this gem of a restaurant. The jazz music was so excellent and all the players were beyond talented and so fun. Jess kept our wine glasses full and made fantastic recommendations making sure we had the right drinks. And I got to meet Nick, one of the owners and he was so friendly and welcoming! We will absolutely be back! What an incredible place to have in the neighborhood! Also don't miss the cheesecake, it was soo good!

First time visiting Tambour - absolutely loved it. Small, intimate restaurant and bar. Great wine list and service. But most importantly - phenomenal jazz! All of the musicians we saw were incredibly talented. As a local to Park Slope….really thankful this place exists. Much closer to home than my usual jazz spots in the Village.

Amazing people running the place from the owner to the server, love the music and the community feels. Enjoyed my food too and beers! Highly talented folks playing jazz which went on for hours, so grateful to have enjoyed their music. I am glad i discovered this jazz bar in the neighborhood and I hope they will be here for long ☺️❤️

A place that features only professional jazz musicians, the ones that actually have been actively playing with world known people. Nick, the owner, is also one of the elite drummers, so of course he knows who he allows to play there. This place is an incredible and rare find in NYC. Highly recommended.

This is a great spot. Music is amazing, the vibe is intimate with a neighborhood feel, and the wine and cheesecake are excellent. I'll give the food a try next time, because the brussel sprouts smelled amazing. The sommelier and owner were very friendly as well

Get to the Chase:Pros:1. Such a great vibe, from very courteous staff to warm welcomes from the owner; The ambience was relaxed, fun, and family friendly as well as a great date spot2. LIVE music was definitely massive plus, and even the musicians were greeting my 5 year old and let her see the congos3. Jess is a gem! She was our waiter, sommelier, bartender and overall hype check. She gave us prime seats for 3 adults and a 5 year old. Kindly offered a booster seat for the little one, and gave us all that we needed (menus, plates, napkins, and drink tips) with genuine smiles. She definitely made our evening all the more pleasant.4. We had the Za'atar chicken, calamari salad, brussel sprouts that were on the house, miso charred broccoli, braised short rib risotto, mussels in white wine and cilantro, 1 rose, and 1 glass of red, with 25% tip ~$220 for 3 adults and 1 child. Very fair for the quality of food, entertainment and service. 5. Food came out HOT and fast6. Heard they'll also have a liquor license soon so that should introduce some great cocktails. 7. Overall I'd say it might need to be my new go-to spot, or at least a good try for anyone who is in the neighborhood. 8. Seats probably 30ish people, so definitely cozy9. Again impeccable service Cons:1. Absolutely NONE

Our bartender took exquisite care of me and my family. My family was visiting from out of town and this was the perfect place to take them for a special dinner in the neighborhood. The food was delicious and the live music was very fun! I will definitely be back :)

An amazing neighborhood place with live jazz and blues music. Food is exceptionally good. Best place in town to just sit, eat, drink and listen to quality music.

The vibe was great. Loved the live band. We sat at the bar and chatted with Jess, who was awesome. Amy and Nick were also such a pleasure - we felt right at home. Definitely get the mussels app and the braised short rib risotto! Food was great

I hosted my partner's 40th birthday at Tambour this weekend. The compliments from our guests are still pouring in days later. The bar (no pun intended) was set high for upcoming milestone birthdays we have later this year.... I am so glad ours was first! Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was perfectly orchestrated from the warm ambiance, to the mouth-watering cuisine, and thoughtful wine pairing. The space fit 30 people comfortably and had great energy. I brought my own playlist to fit my vision. Dinner was buffet style and started with vegetable appetizers (salad, crispy Brussels sprouts and broccoli), followed by protein (steak, salmon, chicken) with the most delicious sauce pairings. (Gluten free / nut free if that matters to you)I am still in disbelief by the quality of the food. If Tambour is not at minimum Bib Gourmand, they should be. Go before they get discovered! On a typical day, Tambour has live music. At our event the stage was used for speeches because let's face it... my crew has A LOT to say and having access to a microphone was a huge hit. It really was the perfect space and the flow of the evening was absolutely flawless. The most difficult part of the evening was getting everyone to leave. If you do not have a reason to do a full buyout, go for dinner and music. My favorite way to spend a low key evening is to sit at the bar. You won't be disappointed. Tambour is a hidden gem and Chef Tomas is their star.Thank you so much for making this an incredible experience we will always remember and talk about for years to come.
