I enjoy sauntering over to this place during lazy mornings. I especially like the community feel. However, to echo what others have mentioned, their customer service leaves much to be desired. Each time I stand at the counter waiting to order, it's a mystery what I will get. Typically, it's a blank "why are you standing here" stare followed by a reluctant hello. Roots is my favorite cafe in South Park Slope/Greenwood. Their coffee is fresh and high quality, staff is very friendly. They have many delicious options for food with pastries, muffins, and hot food options. The seating is very comfortable and welcoming environment. I really like that they have vegan options such as the Taibbi sandwich, Jamie's burrito, pastries, and non-dairy milk.
