Others are a miss.The first-time service was questionable since they tried to overload the table with the main course when we were still having appetizers.Appetizers are delicious. Bouillabaisse a disappointment, fish dry and very few mussels etc. Steak boring. Ravioli more like an overstuffed perogi. Chicken under a brick very good. Still worth a visit.

The food was a soggy mess. There was an older gentleman sitting at the table next to me was vulgar, loud, and obnoxious, he had a bunch of construction workers with him, meanwhile the owners were just laughing it off like he owned the place.

We've been to Canteen twice (so far) and both dinners were fantastic! The selection of cocktails is creative and explores the wonders of mixology beyond the standard cocktail options. The wine list thoughtfully curated. I was particularly happy to find a rather unusual Müller-Thurgau from Italy's Alto-Adige region as a by-the-glass option. What about the food? Well, that is absolutely remarkable, too: the creativity at Canteen continues seamlessly from glass to plate. That applied to the Burger, the Bouillabaisse, the pork chop, the duck breast, the salmon and the apple galette. Every single dish we had was simply great! I found the service to be particularly friendly and attentive. I am surprised by some of the comments in other reviews. My wife, my son and I found the overall atmosphere at Canteen on both nights very pleasant to say the least and left both times in a cheerful mood. What else can we ask for?

Aside from the gorgeous lighting and decor, this restaurant has superb staff. They're kind, warm, and welcoming. My favorite things are the variety of mocktails that they have to offer. They're carefully created along with any of the delicious meals they have. I'm so happy to see a small business grow and have another fabulous restaurant to add to the small Chatham Village.

i'm really disappointed by this place, unfortunately. there were just so many misses for me: 1) the food was mediocre at best. the burger was just okay, the fat was not trimmed from the duck, the macaroni and cheese was watery, and the rest of the food was generally unimpressive. 2) the service was really bad. the staff was not attentive at all, sent us the wrong drinks and salad, and forgot to replace our silverware between courses. i had to borrow my friend's butter knife to cut my pork chop. 3) the cheese plate was soooo sad and pathetic looking. i mean...this place started out as a cheese shop! the plating was so soulless and the portion size was sad. it was also forgotten about and then finally served with our entrees? i would not recommend bimi's at all unfortunately. i wish they never expanded. i would love to do a redo of our dinner, but i would not pay to come back.

I will start this review by saying the canteen is drop dead gorgeous and the food was the BEST food I've had around Berkshire county in years, possibly ever. With all that said, the service was extremely disappointing. We had many issues during our NYE dinner and nothing was done to remedy or acknowledge them. With 3 people and a bill of $550 before tip I would expect attention to be given when clients have a issue(s). I called and left them a message on resy about my experience and was ignored both times. Extremely let down by the way the owners have handled this. I wish I could say RUN to Chatham NY and have the best meal of your life, but due to the lack of service and being ignored I can not.

Some grapes, a handful of nuts, and Bits of cheese (delicious) and prosciutto. Very small for sharing. We continued to share the simple fondue ( highly recommended )and the bouillabaisse, the latter of which, although stunningly beautiful, was a bit flat in flavor. We finished with two desserts. That, with four glasses of wine each came to $247 before tip, and after tip, close to $300. Which, compared to other places in Chatham with similar menus, is overpriced IMHO. I guess I was expecting more " wow".

We had steak, and it was really good! We ordered the Chicken Dumplings and they were pretty atypical, it did not have much taste. Needless to say, we would not order that dish again. I rated atmosphere lower since we were seated downstairs, where it was a smaller space and pretty chilly. Overall, it was an alright experience.

We had the world slate, smash burger with shoestring fries, coq au vin, and pork chop with buckwheat spaetzle and red cabbage. We appreciated that the dishes were prepared carefully and not laden with butter. It was all delicious except for the strangely unappetizing cheese plate, which contained about 1 ounce of cold, boring cheese and was not appropriate for sharing. Nice rustic dining room with leather placemats and lovely cloth napkins. Friendly and helpful service.
