“Some of the best chicken I've ever had. The prices are really great for the portion sizes and the quality. I can't help but keep coming back because I love it so much! My only issue has been with staff. Very often, if not every time, I have to wait for quite a while to ask for something because there's nobody at the front. The most recent time I went (2/20/24) also was incredibly unpleasant for me in terms of service. Not only did it take forever to ask for utensils because nobody was there, but the worker that did come out (I believe it was the worker as there was nobody else in the building at that moment) smelled very heavily of marijuana to the point of causing my asthma to act up and make me cough.“
“Upon walking in I was greeted professionally. I ordered the signature rice bowl and galbi bone-in wings. Both items were delicious. I took a bite while in the parking lot just to taste while fresh then drive to my destination about 15 minutes away and guess what the chicken still had some crunch to it. Will be back soon to explore the menu more.“
“This was our first time @ Kitchen 216.The staff welcomed us & were very friendly despite being busy. The food was prepared to order. We went with the following meals; sweet jerk & teriyaki baked chicken, fried chicken & fried shrimp. Our sides were Mac & cheese, candied yams and corn bread. Everything tasted Delicious! We will be back to have the collard greens as with this trip they were all out.Definitely a hidden gem in the 518!! ☺️“
“This place is a legendary staple for local vegans, and I'll get takeout from here at least twice a month. I've pretty thoroughly explored their expansive vegetarian menu over the years and I don't think I've ever disliked anything. My favorite appetizers and entrees change every year, but my current go-to as of writing this is the chicken, beef, and pork in garlic sauce. The pork-fried rice is also ridiculously good. Their General Tso's with the May Wah chicken is sometimes a much-needed break from the tofu that all other Chinese places limit us to. That all being said, a recurring issue with Empire Wok is the inconsistent answers when it comes to distinguishing the vegan from the vegetarian items. I've asked a dozen or so times over the last decade and it is almost always different. Same goes for most others I've talked to about it. This isn't just frustrating for puritanical ethical vegans like me, but potentially dangerous for those with allergies. A while back, I had the one owner go through the meatless menu and cross out anything that contained egg-this included the lo mein and egg rolls, of course (these are basically never vegan, anywhere), but also the sweet and sour chicken that I spent years eating after this same man told me it was vegan. Days after he marked my menu for me, I returned as a vegan family I knew was ordering the sweet and sour chicken and lo mein, because he'd told them it was vegan! Past a certain point, and having asked the same question in multiple different ways, it can't be blamed on a language barrier or a misinformed employee. The food is just too good, though, and you can't find anything like it anywhere else in the 518, so I keep going and just stick to what I know. Hopefully what I'm eating is vegan? “After only eating Chick-Fil-A in D.C. and Virginia, I was overjoyed to find out Chick-Fil-A would be right in my hometown. Although when it opened, it was always crowded, and pretty much impossible to get "fast" food for the first 1-2 months, it has calmed down, and is pretty fast in terms of service. I went around 6pm, and there was a pretty large dinner rush line. However, the staff remained very calm and mature and dealt with the crowd smoothly and quickly. I got a Chick-Fil-A deluxe with buffalo sauce, and it was absolutely scrumptious! If you're ever craving chicken in the Troy-Rensselaer area, come on down and check out Chick-Fil-A! It's been worth the wait!Parking: Decent amount of spots to park, as the restaurant shares a parking lot with the adjacent Aldi.Kid-friendliness: Kids meals, cow mascot, games. Overall average kid-friendliness compared to other fast food restaurants.“
“To own a Chick-fil-A franchise you are withheld to the highest possible corporate standard, and obviously they're going to make sure they do everything right and they did. Time will tell how well this location performs and maintains that performance.“
“Been there twice. Decent food and quick courteous service both times. So had the beef Philly, chicken gyro, fish (whiting I think), wings with a couple of sauces and chicken nuggets. My favorite was the beef Philly. Adequate size and good taste. Wife liked the gyro. Wings were good enough to order again but not great. I liked the large selection of sauces. Fried fish was good. A little more thin and crunchy than I prefer but acceptable. The chicken was large flat pieces of breast which were better than traditional little nuggets from a fast food place. Joel M. said it was the bomb for college kids in his review and I agree. I would have eaten there a lot if it was near my school. Overall, definitely worth trying for a quick meal.“
“We ride past this business daily and tonight we decided to give it a try and we were pleasantly surprised with our order which we took home. We ordered a 2 piece crispy chicken breast and wing with a side of mashed potatoes with gravy a biscuit and a drink. When we got home we heated for a few seconds and this was the best chicken dinner better than KFC not greasy and taste we ordered a side of coleslaw each as well and was very good also. We will definitely go back and recommend their chicken combos great service as well“
