I've been going to Catania for years since I was a kid and over the years they've gotten worse and worse . Last year I ordered a cake for my best friends gender reveal it tasted like it was in the freezer for 2 weeks . I gave it another chance , BOUGHT ANOTHER CAKE SAME THING , so I stopped going all together . A few weeks ago I decided to order a smash cake for my daughters $400 first birthday photoshoot , I spoke to a woman over the phone who asked if I can send a picture of the cake design I wanted and she would ask the baker if he can do it ... she said yes he can , great . So this weekend I picked up my cake at 830am .. the girl at the counter pulled it out . My jaw dropped . I was literally mortified . It looked like my almost 1 year old made the designs on it , it looked like weed plants, it looked like a man's genitals . It literally looked like everything BUT my picture I sent .. I am so disappointed , I couldn't reschedule my daughters photoshoot or I would have . Below is what I asked for the pink and the blue one ( all I asked was for variety's of pink .. and the pink and white is what I got .. NEVER EVER AGAIN . Even the girl at the counter said she's at a loss for words ..

Last month I bought fruit tarts and they tasted old, like they had gone bad. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought it was just a bad batch. A few nights ago I bought the fruit tarts again and had to spit them out immediately. It tasted like soap and chemically. Absolutely disgusting. Not what it used to be.

The bakery is mediocre. The counter personnel young ladies are very sassy and need a lesson on customer service. A smile would be nice and when ordering especially if there is no line a customer should not be rushed when ordering items. I would not recommend anyone to waste their time or money. Pastries are not all that great better off going to Russo's Bakery.

I love this bakery. I've mostly gone to their other location in/close to Bushwick but this has been THE go to bakery for me for the last few years.Amazing all around. I got what I thought were big rainbow cookies (turned out to be cheesecake in between two moist cakes in the shape and color of the Italian flag. I wasn't mad about it), a mini cheese cake, little fruit tarts, a mini tiramisu, a fresh cut loaf of Italian bread.Everything exceeded expectations. Their cheesecake and rainbow cookies are to die for but try anything, you won't be disappointed.

I’m so disappointed, I bought a cake for my husband and it was absolutely disgusting, the cake wasn’t fresh and it tasted horrible like it went bad. The strawberries had mod and it kind of had a smell. I would never get any cake from this bakery anymore!

They are perfect! Great, not expensive bread, every day until closing time (8 p.m.) you can get still hot (!!!) kajzer rolls and all other bakery products + cookies ... In Addition, great, extremely nice and charming service! ... I STRONGLY RECOMMEND!

Being in Ridgewood on Monday, with some friends, who had not been in the neighborhood, we grew up in 30 years. I thought it would be appropriate, to take them to Catania Bakery, on Fresh Pond Road. Which is probably one of the best bakeries in the city. Walking in, the aroma of the fresh-baked breads, cakes and pastries. The crystal clean display case, with what those, lobster tails, éclairs, cookies and cakes, a feast for the eyes And senses. We picked up, lobster tails and cheesecake. We resisted eating them on the spot, so we can go to my house, and try a new cappuccino machine. I had never had a lobster tail, quite that good, they slice them in half, then stuff them with a pure white cream, that is not overly sweet, incredibly delicious, and the lobster tail, has an incredible crunch, none like I've ever had. I'm going back next week pickup some more lobster tails. The cheesecake, was very good as well, but that lobster tail, was INCREDIBLE.

This is probably the worst bakery I’ve ever been too. They charged for an old croissant $5 that I wasn’t able to eat because it was too hard to bite.

The best!! That donut with cannoli cream inside is unbelievable. Never a bad dessert. Better than Fortunato's in my eyes.

Great bakery. Fresh pastries and friendly staff. Go for the crumb rainbow cake. It's to die for.

Probably picking and choosing prices for their customers. There's no menu or prices listed. They told me it was $20/lb for assorted cookies. Let me know what they tell you. The other location charges $16/lb.
