I believe this restaurant is now a victim of CoVid19, it's been replaced by another 'dumpling' place like many others in the block. The one star is not for the restaurant's food but for the fact it doesn't exist anymore

Review only for Chow Kueh Teow aka Char Kway Teow aka Char Kuay Teow:Pros:Fish cake! standard part of dishTasty fish cake!Service was quick and prompt; rather than courteous, more like familial straightforwardness, which I like as wellThey use wide flat noodles by default (non Pad Thai style)Balanced taste!Cons:Supposed to be with shrimp and squids (according to menu) but actually comes standard with shrimp and fish cakesI ordered the CKT with pork to be added, but the chef misheard perhaps and substituted the shrimp with the pork, or perhaps because the chef felt the shrimp and pork are a bad combo...either way, I didn't get a single piece of shrimpNo red Chinese sausageNo black/extra dark soy sauceHad to ask for pork to be addedNo shrimpNo complementary Chinese teaMild reaction to medium level preservativeCash onlyFYI:Medium-large portion sizeNot so wide kway teow, though double width of pad thaiChinese tea (complimentary?) served on requestFish cake is circularRating (only for CKT): 6/10Ambience: 5/10Overall rating: 6/10 (because of not having shrimp in the dish)

Holy Guac. I thought I had a good understanding of Malaysian food. Until NOW. Yowza, what a sight for sore eyes. One thing to note: prices have escalated, as they have in many establishments, Post-Lockdown The Thai Spicy Chicken... was. out. of. this. world. Hainanese style chicken, poached & chilled to perfection. That friggin paste, I need that on everything, EVERYTHING, I eat! (see pic). The Shrimp Sambal. OMG. OMGGG. Tang & Bang-- everything you're looking for in a sambal dish. And the shrimp were pretty darn impressive in quality. Roti Canai? Standard, but nonetheless, perfect. Service was polite, quick, & efficient. Plating was surprisingly intricate for what seemed like a Hole in the Wall. *Cash Only*.

This place use to be really good. I visited this place during the summer of 2020 and earlier today. My favorite menu item was reduced to a fried wonton in a watery flavorless broth. The Wonton Mee comes with a flavorful broth with steamed wontons and a side order of white rice. When I visited today, I barely got the usual soup or my side order of rice. The decor is bland and extremely boring. The place has gone down hill and I was extremely disappointed in my recent visit. This location is a cash only establishment. The bathroom has a horrendous smell of foul.Go elsewhere for food.

Terrible and awful. I ordered a take out and it took 45 minutes. The restaurant was not busy and no wonder they don't have any customers.

My wife and her mom and sister swear by the authenticity of the flavors. We had curry, roti, satay, hainanese chicken and rice, nasi lemak - all were really excellent. The dining area is a little old but clean.

Curry Leaves serves up some delicious and authentic Southeast Asian Food. The ladies running the counter were very nice - and made sure they got my order right when they took it. It seems like the seating area was spread out a little bit for COVID. BBQ Pork Noodles: 5/5 - The noodles were springy and got the flavor of the sauce perfect. It's akin to Pontian Noodles in Singapore/Malaysia and tasted delicious. The pork was not too wet or dry and nailed the flavor. The wontons were solid but nothing special to rave about. Roti Canai/Prata: 5/5 - Although the chicken curry was a little too watery for my taste, it's flavor and spice profile were spot on. The curry tasted exactly like a hawker center's (Singaporean food court) would and the roti had the perfect consistency. I opted for the soft roti as that is what I am familiar with, and was not disappointed. Overall: 5/5 - It may not meet western cleanliness standards or fit traditional American tastes, but I would strongly recommend any Southeast Asianer to go and get a taste of home.

Curry leaves restaurant had a bad hygience issue after covid lock down. I found a cockroach in my bowl of curry noodle after i had gone eaten half way. Not fast enough to take a photo as an evidence, and the waiteress taken away the bowl with dead cockroach. Disgusting...

Terrible Malaysia crusine. They have very limited menu. Most of the items in the menu unavailable. Do not know why they still open since they cannot serve Malaysian crusine.

I ordered a Thai chicken rice and inside not just less chicken , the chicken is so dry taste like left over chicken . The most negative part is inside the rice have a small metal clip ( like you can find in a uncooked chicken that people can buy in market) .

Curry is so good. But we ordered fried pork. I had to say it was disgusting. Bad smell and worst taste. It seems like they kept that for like half a year.I know locals like this place. But I tried the worst food I had for the whole last year

I usually go around 11-noon for the 4 choice lunch special (about $7). They also have a 3 choice option as well, which is about $6. I would recommend going earlier in the day (before 1pm) because they do run out of options very quickly. Right as you walk in, you order at the counter. There is usually this short older woman with glasses who will take your order. She's very friendly and helpful so if you're not sure what to get I recommend asking her for some guidance but they have a variety of proteins & veggies on display. I usually get the garlic chicken (extra sauce on the rice), with the pork ribs (she will sometimes warn you its spicy but its not actually spicy, less spicy than shin ramen for reference), the string beans and the eggplant (the eggplant will be squishy and mushy, so if you like eggplant with more texture I would avoid!). Overall its a great place to go when you don't really know what you're craving, and want a little bit of everything. Its super fast and affordable, and a great place to stop by for a quick lunch.
