Hello my fellow Yelpers! It's great to be back. All I can say is, that Puerto Plata was an incredible experience, that I shared with loved ones. It's a Dominican restaurant, specializing in seafood. Last night, we gathered to celebrate my uncle's birthday. My cousin made the reservation, for a party of 15. As soon as we came in, I was taken to the area for large parties. It consisted of 3 large tables; which were nicely arranged for the occasion. The waitress that catered to us, was very nice. For starters, we began with a delicious appetizer; consisting of mozzarella sticks, a fried yucca and cheese fritter, and grilled beef strips. I opted for a glass of lemonade. My mom ordered a glass of sangria. For the main course, 3 big trays of seafood, were brought to the table. It was a delicious combination of shrimp, lobster, salmon, sea scallops, mussels, crabs and calamari; sitting on a bed of steamed veggies. There was also. Side of garlicky tostones! Delicious. It was the best tasting seafood meal I've ever had! The flavors were spot on. Salty, buttery, garlicky sauce, at the bottom of the tray, with a touch of heat; accompanied with a fresh seafood taste. The staff is amazing. When it comes to the ambiance, the vibe is good for a couple's date night and of course, for groups. Great food and great drinks. I would definitely go back again! Next time, I will make sure to order extra tostones, to dunk into that sauce!

This place is over priced. Portions are small and some of the food lacks flavor. We ordered mangu.. omg hi way robbery. Tiny portion. Also ordered rice and beans, oh boy! Beans come out in small container and it was not even filled. We asked for mojito sauce and they charged $5.00 . It came out in a plastic container with zero flavor. Not worth the money and ambiance was just weird

Food was mediocre. Menu was rather limited. Drinks were okay but lacking. Service was excellent and the ambiance for a Friday evening was what I expected for Freeport NY on a chilly early spring night. I have always said that the restaurants in Freeport are for a hot summer night after the beach and hope for a decent experience.

Everything was good until it came to the check. It was four couples who asked for separate checks. Not only they did charge each couple an automatic 20% Gratuity, but, they also charged a 3% fee if paying by credit card. It seems we are being nickel and dimed everywhere we go these days. I mean, I've never been to a place where I order a churrasco, pay $32 plus tax, 20%Gratuity and 3% credit card fee and my churrasco comes plain with no sides. Sides would cost extra, from $8 and up. I just had a plain skirt steak on my plate, not even a decorative leaf to make it look pretty, lol. I would've probably been charged an extra 5 for that one leaf. Other than that, the food was good and the staff was very friendly. I recommend it if you don't mind being nickel and dimed.

Worst place to dine out. Food was average and expensive, drinks are just as bad as this review This place is good to hangout at the bar and drink beer. Staff was ok and friendly. Not recommended.

The food was good. They serve a light complementary toaste bread for the table. Everything we ordered was good, including the sangria. My youngest did not like the cheese in the smash burger. The service was good. Our waitress was Ashley, and she made sure we were good. It was our first time. When we arrived, the hostess greeted us with a smile and asked for the reservation name. However, every staff member who approached us was genuinely professional, kind, and very attentive.. As we waited for our dessert, the manager Rudy stopped by our table to ask how was. I will definitely visit again with friends as well as other family members. The location is not too small. there's another side when you enter the restaurant towards the left. I did not go on that side, so im not sure what it looked like. Ashley was our waitress. Ashley was very attentive and professional. She had a beautiful smile each time she came to our table. I recommend visiting Puerto Plata! The food was good, the ambiance and service were good as well. P.S. I also saw they offer hookah by a certain time, and the live DJ started setting up around 8:30 PM. The music just before the DJ arrived was not too loud, and the music the DJ played wasn't too loud. Which was great because people can hear each other talk. There is parking available.

As always another amazing experience, From the welcoming staff to the delicious seafood. My top three is the ceviche, mussels and oysters. The vibe is fun and i ended my experience with a flan and an espresso martini . I love to come here year round because it remind me of home.

This is not a fancy restaurant, hence, no pictures of the dining room or exterior of the building. Get there early or be prepared to walk because there is no parking; Not even for paid valet service. They amassed the most inexpensive of wines and wish to charge beyond market rates for a glass. The brunch menu was more interesting than the dinner. You would think they would have a greater selection of choices for dinning during the evening than during the day. Overall, the value was not there and we're doubtful of a return visit.
