“I've lived here for over ten years and never had their pizza until recently. Maybe it's because the outside (and the inside) are dated and in need of of refreshing, but don't be like me- don't let that put you off! The pizza is so good. Not too dough-y, not too greasy (they use food cheese) and the pizza maker is a pro. Plus the old thank you notes and other memorabilia on the walls are a town time capsule, and it's charming. A find. The stars are for the pizza because, you're really only gonna do take out anyway, I bet.“

“Cannot say enough about the quality of Slices - they are my favorite takeout. Their grandma crust is delicious and their signature vegan pie with cheese is my absolute go to! The restaurant is small and clean but more of a place to grab a slice versus eat at - although in the summer it’s good people watching.“

“John was a wonder individual who helped me secure for a large party. He was extremely helpful and the service was fantastic. Came here on New Year Eve and was great full for their hospitality. The food was yummy and out of this world. All pasta, pizza and appetizers were beyond our expectations. Great place with decades long history in operation. Honestly, this place could’ve served me dog food and I wouldn’t have cared because Kat the waitress made it the best meal I’ve had in years. I’ve never had a better waitress. “John at Stone Pony was exceptional! He catered all of our food over the weekend for our retreat. He was always on time with a smile on his face. Super professional and the food was amazing. We had several allergies and dietary restrictions and he accommodated everything. We will definitely be using Stone Pony again if we are ever in the Catskills!“

“Tiny but mighty! We visit this winner every time we're in Hudson! Vegan options are incredibly flavorful, salads are for two. Favorites include daily pasta specials half or whole, soups and house bread. Servers are circling the tables, softly checking in for questions and extras. Warm and inviting, the lighting is perfect in the restaurant. Step outside onto Warren street for a stroll, dog watching is free!“

Enroute, we ordered pizza from the nearest Dominos that the map showed. That happened to be the Dominos franchise at Saugerties, NY.Based on experiences going back at least a couple of decade, our expectations with such pizza places are minimal - grab your pizza and walk out. Most look like sweatshops with very little time or patience for providing any customer experience.So when we walked inside the establishment, we were somewhat pleasantly surprised at seeing a neat and clean place - well lit and surprisingly well-ventilated to not have that overpowering pizza smell through the air. The place looked appealing to sit-n-eat.We asked the manager Jennifer who was checking out our order if we can sit and eat our pizza. Her prompt response - "Of course. Would you like some paper plates and napkins?". She promptly reached out under the counter and got us some paper plates and napkins, and also asked if we needed some red-pepper that were nicely stacked on the desk.As we thanked her and sat down, we noticed her staff not only paying attention to their job but also engaged in occasional light-chats. The whole setup was a welcome change from mostly overworked-employees-sweatshops that we so frequently encounter these days.The restrooms were kept nice and clean. While Jennifer had stepped away, I went up to the counter. The person baking the pizza (I forgot to get his name) quickly came up to the counter asking if I needed any help. It seemed like there was a well-bonded team in place.A very pleasant experience overall. That's how Pizza franchises used to be once upon a time. And that's how they need to be.“

“Broadway is our absolute favorite. We moved farther from them and tried the two pizza joints close to our new digs and they are not at all as delicious as a Broadway pie with onions. We'll commute to them - they are worth it!! P.S We were lucky they delivered to us prior to moving and the drivers were always cool. I miss delivery!“

“Great service, great fried chicken. I ordered a martini from the bar and it was warm and a "half pour". I brought it to the bartender and she argued with me over the recipe for a martini. Why would she do that? I walked away. The manager was outstanding and made me a wonderful drink. Food, 4 stars, bartender, a zero. Sorry, not sorry .“

“We came here the other day (thursday) for a pizza and some beers. We tried several of their slices as well as a whole custom pie. The quality and taste varied from pie to pie. i was surprised at how strange the plain slice was. very little sauce, or maybe the cheese combination over powered the sauce. if this was the only slice we tried i would have not written the review. but we ordered a whole pie with kale and sausage and was very pleasantly surprised. lots of garlic and ricotta. kale cooked perfectly, with very little flop on the pizza.staff was not very welcoming, bartender was almost adversarial. despite our please and thank you's it was clear we were not welcome. maybe it was rare occurrence, everyone has a bad day. i would return and give it another try. if that's the normal vibe, just put up a sign that says locals only.“

“I spotted this hidden gem from the road. It’s tucked behind things and I’d never noticed it. The place is tiny - takeout only I believe - but magical. The ovens are from another world. The mushroom pizza was unique and wonderful. The young women making the pizzas were charming and seem both good and committed to it.Can’t wait to explore further.“

We tired the traditional cheese slice, white slice, a meatball slice and a Sicilian slice... all of them were simply out of the world.... the day's special shrimp chowder was decadent and the made to order calzone with sausage and pepperoni filling was definitely worth the wait....“

“As a local this is the best pizza. Grew up with this family run spot and anytime I'm even close to RH I go for a slice or a pie. The crust makes it as this is not to crisp but you also won't get floppy soft either, offering a great texture. Their sauce is really good as well.
