Great service and products

I'd like to start off with a bit of my background, just so I can boost the credibility of my claims. I used to work at VERY authentic Slavic deli back in my hometown, in another part of New York. I'm also an actually full-out Polish person (not the fake Buffalo polish). My immigrant parents even sent me to Polish school for a decade, so I can really be considered a true polish-American. Almost all the products that are sold at Euro deli, were also sold at my store. To be honest, selection is kind of underwhelming. I guess you can't expect much from an area with nearly no true Slavs. The items from the deli counter, are not very fresh. They sold me kiełbasa that was sticky and smelly, meaning it has been sitting there for quite a while. Cheese was dry and crumbly, which it's not supposed to be. I would know, because I sold the SAME exact brands when I worked at a deli. When the food at my job was in that state, we would have to chuck it. I guess they don't do that at this deli. Also, if you ask them to slice your cheese thin, they will be sure to ignore you and slice it thick anyway. And if you didn't already know, all the sausages are not made there. It gets ordered from places in jersey or Chicago, and shipped loosely in a cardboard box. I would know, because my store sold the same exact brands of kiełbasa. I found an open jar of beets on the shelf. It smelled fermented, and clearly looked like it was no longer edible. I've definitely missed damaged items on store floor before, so I figured it was an honest mistake. I brought the jar to the worker to save her the embarrassment of some other shopper finding it. She looked really pissed that I even bothered to bring it to the counter. In general, the service itself is also mid. Before all these fiascos, I tried to be friendly because I was really excited to find a store that catered to my culture. After the cold attitudes, I avoid going in to shop unless I really need something. Being basically the only place to find Eastern European food, I can't complain too much. If you're going to shop there anyway, just stay away from the deli counter and check the expiration tags on the prepackaged food. Proceed at your own discretion. Otherwise, have fun trying a candy bar or picking up some Vegeta for your spice cabinet.

I absolutely enjoy and love so many things that come through this . Such a magic and special store my favorite was how its shelves introduced me to Slavic mineral waters some of which are concocted into stomach aides, and also transform the taste. Such a delicious treat one of the actual most interestingly refreshing waters I've ever consumed. All to help take down the rest of what you can find here things range and you can find some really nice Slavic foods stocked here that there's so much can be done with it and the high quality of most things. Like every type of store I've picked up a couple of products I didn't enjoy as much as others but I'm very satisfied with the array here. There's enough inside the store that it's even visually satisfying with World flags lining the top of the shelves with all their many colors. Here you will find most everything from Lithuanian tree cakes to Easter kulich, matjes, cold smoked fish, , , , Slavic deli... trust me... you gotta come at it from the right angle and when you do with a little previous study and knowledge you will really enjoy this. I need to come here for some shashlik marinade, some Georgian adzhika, and some other stuff for summer very soon as I can hope to be there. Last year I made Polish white borscht with ingredients from there around this season. They have everything needed to do that sort, and then extra ingredients have so many uses in other types of cuisines. The pre-Soviet, Soviet era, and post-Soviet Slavic treats you can find here are all really nice. As someone with some Cuban born family my only slight not even really a complaint but more like suggestion is that they will prepare Cubano sandwiches with their deli meats but they still don't do Elena Ruth sandwich because they possibly haven't heard of it or something maybe. I highly recommend checking it out because I think they have many raspberry, cherry, and strawberry likes of jams, and dairy spreads that would make an excellent one of those Cuban sandwiches called Elena Ruth, or Elena 'Ruz' sandwich (in Cubanismo).

Absolutely terrible service. Was not greeted upon arrival or even told it may be a long wait. Only one employee was there and she was taking care of a gentleman. Didnt even acknowledge my existence. Will never go here again. I don't mind if your have a big order to fill but say sorry or I'm by myself today. Rather than not look at me at all. I was about to spend $200 on caviar and other types of fish....waited 40 minutes with no hello or how are you.

Great little eastern European store. I love their variety of sweets and chocolates. There are so many to choose from. The small candies made with condensed milk with cows on the packaging are definitely my favorites. They also have other great snacks, canned vegetables and a great deli section. Prices are very reasonable and a great place to try some new food.
