Dinner at the Bridgeview tonight was incredible! My friend had the Italian beef sandwich and I had a salad with grilled steak. My steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy over a beautiful salad fit for a king. The Italian beef was packed with flavor!!! The desserts are like no others; homemade specialties that I highly recommend saving room for. Mikayla waited on us, she was so sweet and attentive, making our experience even better. I highly recommend The Bridgeview, already thinking about my next visit.

Nothing to brag about. My party of 4 was the only table in the dining room and everything just seemed slow. The waitress was really nice, but not as attentive as she should've been. The Nashville Chicken sandwich was alright. It was a big portion and filling but it was slightly rubbery in the middle. There was good sauce on it and the slaw was perfect as it really balanced the sandwich and gave great texture. My date had the smash burger which was good. Cooked to perfection. Needed more bacon, but doesn't everything! Our fries were crisp, but cold. Medium wings were excellent. They came out hot and crispy. The poutine seemed like a poor attempt at something thrown together. By the time she came to check on us to see how everything was... we were finished. Dining area was clean and tables were nicely spaced apart as nobody was on top of anyone as more people entered. All in all... it was alright.

I first became aware of Bridgeview Tavern through mutual friends that had raved about the food, and in particular one item on the menu that I had to try. This was the Chicago style Italian Beef. As a Chicago native I was of course skeptical that 10 hours away from the Windy City there could be such a highly lauded Italian Beef. My rose tinted glasses towards my home town restaurants were swiftly ripped off my face, and dipped into the best au jus this side of the Mississippi. For starters, no one outside of Chicago knows what giardiniera is, save those fortunate to find themselves in a Mariano’s, or once upon a time a Dominick’s (RIP). This chef has honestly done their homework, and then some. The giardiniera was the perfect amount of spice, a punch in the mouth from a long lost sibling. Oily goodness pervading the deepest pockets of one’s unsuspecting pallet. The beef was shredded, slow cooked and marinated to the point where if you took out just the meat from the sandwich you’d be in luck to have only that for dinner. But nay, you have it swimming in au jus that would make a nun cry that the second coming of sandwiches has at last long come.If you think this review be too much, a joke or an exaggeration, then I challenge you to take the journey to Bridgeview Tavern and see the light as I have.

I ordered the Cajun wings, which I had had and loved. It was a dry rub. This time it was a sauce, and nowhere near as good.
