“Came here on a weeknight to celebrate my birthday, and I cannot say enough amazing things about the whole experience. Our server, Li, was absolutely outstanding. She took such amazing care of us and acknowledged my birthday many times :). She was so sweet, professional, and pleasant. She made our night!! Our Chef, Jay, gave us an amazing performance and had us laughing the entire time! Delicious food & drinks. Awesome experience all around. Can’t wait to come back!“

“In the area for work stopped by for a late lunch and compared to the ramen places where I live this place makes me want to move the karaage was the second best I've ever had and the ramen was delightful expecially the egg which I personally don't eat at most places but happy i did here.“

“Im not one for review writing but I have to for this place. Today was my first time here grabbing a lunch special. Having stumbled upon this place on search for a new go to sushi spot close to my house I feel like I found a true gem. Not only was it the sashimi fresh and delicious but the simplest rolls were made with love. I got a Philadelphia roll and the smoked salmon was lovely. A great solid piece paired with fresh creamy cream cheese that tasted so fresh I couldn't help but notice. Its not often I find myself making note of how fresh the condiments in my sushi roll taste but the option to order online and customize the orders is great and I am truly looking forward to making this our new sushi spot.I cannot wait to try some of the roll with interesting additions like apple and honey miso wasabiAlso thank you for the delicious fried bites that you added as a gift! “After a very long day, I came in get a bite to eat before I went back to traveling. The food is delicious. The staff is incredible. They will go the extra mile for you (literally). After ordering and eating entirely too much delicious food the couple who owns the restaurant gave me a ride to the bus station. The woman who served me was kind and kept me company while I was alone. Really one of the best experiences I have had in the entire state of New Jersey. Thankful for people like you.“

“Update: Dropped to 4 stars. What's up with the young Asian dude working the phone and register. Called in a simple lunch order, it was like talking to a zombie, and no thank you. Ok, picked up the food, paid and again no, thank you. Called back to inform him they are under portioning soy sauce. Again, guy didn't even respond to my polite delivery of information, I wasn't upset or angry. I'll take my order with a side of courtesy next time please. Thank you.Previous: This is my go to sushi spot. Food is great. We love the rolls. Fish is always fresh and delicious. Salmon skin roll is really well done. We like the ponzu tuna app and dumplings. The sashimi dinner is a lot of fish. I actually don't order it bc I like my fish sliced thinner, they give big think slices which is a good value, but not my preference. Salad dressing is too oniony. Family makes me pickup at least once a week.“

“I Love Tawara Mart. It's such a great find to have an authentic Japanese market nestled in the main street of Ramsey. They have just as good a variety of Japanese foods, snacks, & food ingredients. They even rival dare I say exceed in variety of Japanese goods from purses, toys, stickers and more. I once had a nice conversation with the store owner, I believe her name was Kiko; she regularly travels back & forth to Japan to get the latest and greatest from back home so you know it's legit. More people need to discover for themselves this great little slice of Japan right in the heart of Ramsey.“

“Tawara is the hidden gem of NJ! I stumbled upon this restaurant during a road trip last year, and have made it a point to return to the area specifically so I can dine at Tawara again. This place makes the list as one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The pork buns are some of the most delicious things you will ever taste. The sunset roll, spicy beef and sashimi have all been fresh and incredible. Everything I’ve tried on their menu is top quality and taste. Raika is also an excellent hostess, bringing a warm and friendly vibe that makes you feel at home. Overall amazing and highly recommended!“

“Just ordered food here for a lazy Monday night where I didn't feel like cooking myself. Food was delivered within 20 minutes, HOT, and good tasting. Especially with inflation, there is a decent amount of meat in each wanton & meat dish I ordered. “We came here for restaurant week which was a great deal. You got an appetizer and three specialty rolls. There was a lot of different appetizers to pick from and the vegetable tempura was definitely my favorite. It was light crunchy, and you still tasted the flavor of the vegetables was. The pork gyoza was also really tasty. We had a variety of different specialty rolls. They were all good, not great. We had ginger ice cream for dessert which was outstanding and had little crystals of ginger in it and perfect ginger flavor. I would come back here and try some of the other menu items, Besides the sushi. The place is on a main road but never really noticed it. There is no parking lot so you have to park on the street but we didn't have an issue. It's also BYOB and the service was really nice and they didn't rush us at all.“

“I found the place as my wife wanted to have some good sushi. So this is a Korean restaurant serving Korean and Japanese food. Even though it is not really a Japanese restaurant, the sushi was good. The fish tasted fresh and quantity and quality both were really good. The atmosphere didn't feel like a date place but the food was good. The restaurant was clean and that's all it mattered to us. I would definitely visit here again.Parking: There was street parking but plenty was available around it.“

“I super enjoyed this place. Ordered for pickup so can't speak to dine-in experience but the place looked nice enough when I stopped in. Looked like a regular sushi joint. We ordered the sushi boat for 4 and it was almost shockingly good. I can be a bit of a sushi snob and this place got everything right. The pieces were presented beautifully, cut to the right size/thickness - and the rolls were delicious. The only piece I didn't eat was the octopus - I don't know something about the texture just threw me. I think that's an octopus problem not a Yuki problem. We also got some appetizers like shumai and rock shrimp that were both fine. Not great. Wouldn't order again - but doesn't impact the overall experience. Price was right. Experience was on point.“

“For those of you who do not know me, I have been a waitress at Sakura Bana for over three and a half years. Normally, I do not really care about the negative reviews on here because most of the time they do not pertain to things I can control, but our most recent review from January 23rd is something I could not keep to myself.This review had some remarks about our price and quality of our food, which I cannot comment on. I have nothing to do with our pricing or the quality of our fish, so it is not my place to argue with a customer’s review. However, I was truly disgusted by the treatment of my good friend at the sushi bar.For those of you who come eat with us often, you are probably aware that one of our sushi chef’s is not Japanese. He is a very nice man who has been making sushi and serving it to customers longer than I have been alive. He is always efficient, fast, and kind to everyone around him. If any of us waiting staff forget to put an order in, he will make it within a few minutes at the highest of quality because he is just that good.This review referred to him as the “take-out chef” and said he was not a real sushi man. When the customer had asked me who makes the sushi, I had said this gentleman makes the sushi rolls and these gentleman (the Japanese sushi men during this night) made the sushi pieces. It was obvious with this customer’s tone that she was not interested in our sushi chef who made the sushi rolls this particular evening.In addition, when we continued to ask this customer if everything was okay or if she needed anything, it was very clear she did not want us to really talk to her. Our sushi chefs are attentive and kind to our sushi bar customers and all customers in general. We try to have conversation because as many of our reviews say, we try to keep this place a family friend, kind environment.I could see the sadness from my friend when he noticed the dissatisfaction of his sushi rolls that he made. I also noticed how upset he got when he understood that this woman was not going to give him a chance to prove himself. Her disgust for his sushi happened before he even had a chance to prove himself.I understand that sometimes customers just want to be left alone and enjoy their meals in a nice, peaceful manner, but after reading her review, I was truly disgusted to see my friend being treated as if he did not have the skill or the experience to serve customers sushi.I get that people have bad nights, and maybe this was one of them. I apologize if this woman feels as if we treated her differently because she was out by herself at our restaurant, that was never our intention. We always want everyone to feel welcomed and have a great experience.However, I do not care if my manager or anyone sees this and gets upset, I am not going to sit here and tolerate my friend being bashed and referred to as a fake sushi chef when he has been satisfying customers and making these delicious rolls for years. He has always been kind to customers, treated them like family, and always makes the experience for everyone there special. I do not appreciate him being referred to anything less than what he is by someone who did not even give him a chance. I truly do not tolerate any sort of disrespect to my sushi chefs the way he was disrespected tonight. The sushi chefs at Sakura Bana are friends to everyone, and the level of disrespect I witnessed tonight was horrific to say the least.To my friend, all your daughters and sons of Sakura Bana want you to know we see you as one of the bests. You always make sure we serve top notch food and really save us when we need to during busy nights when we forget some things or a customer needs something to go quickly. I hope when you read this, you know that we all love you and appreciate your hard work at Sakura Bana.“

“I’ve always loved Maguro and they definitely don’t get enough hype. Their roll selection is so diverse, there’s something for everyone and they’re always delicious. On my most recent visit they also brought out a sesame chicken appetizer on the house! Love it here.“

“Just celebrated my younger daughter's birthday at Naru. Nice modern feel. Staff were all pleasant and professional. The hibachi chef was polite and cooked very well. The entertainment was restrained and that was perfect for me. I ordered the ribeye hibachi, most of the rest of our group had the chicken. The ribeye was amazingly tender. We also had a Godzilla roll and a Philadelphia roll. Excellent quality rolls. The hibachi came with fried rice, noodles, vegetables, soup, salad, shrimp, and a scoop of ice cream. Great amount of food. Definitely worth a return!“
