“My favorite Mexican seafood spot in town. Their camarones sarandeados were perfect. Their aguachile verde was from heaven with the perfect amount of heat. The fish tacos are great but everything else is much better.Kicker, I’m sober and love mocktails-the virgin michilada is by far the best I’ve ever had. All in all the staff is the cherry on top, they are attentive and friendly.Being from the Pacific Mexican community, you feel so far when in New York. For a mere moment you will find yourself on the beaches of Sinaloa. Honestly, I’m already plotting my next visit always.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp up to dining hall.“
“Love the food here! Definitely worth the wait. I recommend the guacamole with mango and the strawberry lemonade. It does get pretty busy on the weekend so if you are in a rush come on a weekday instead! However if you are having a chill weekend definitely dine in and get a molcajete with the green sauce. The presentation is beautiful. Shout to the servers, cooks, and delivery guys for all their hard work.Vegetarian options: Most of their dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan. The rice and beans is animal product free!“
“I have been dining at La Flor since they first opened a while ago. Chef Viko is very creative and does a regular menu plus seasonal specials. He uses farmer’s market ingredients and is very generous with the portions. Expect to see very colorful and tasty combinations. The core of the menu here is Mexican food with French and Italian notes. The home made pastries and desserts are a solid plus to the dining experience. The wine list has Ben carefully selected and the moderate prices don’t sacrifice the quality. In all, La Flor is one of my favorites in New York City.Vegetarian options: Salads, seasonal veggies.Dietary restrictions: The chef is very knowledgeable and kind and is willing to accommodate special requests.Kid-friendliness: Family place and everyone is welcome.“
“Came to casa on a Friday night for dinner with a group of friends, love the fact they had a dj on Friday playing great music, so the night started good, all the food was great , the shrimp and garlic sauce was the winner, and they have a great drinks, thank you Isabella for taking care of my group!! Love it..“
“What a pleasant surprise! Stopped by on a whim. Attentive service and easily the Birria de res (con queso Oaxaca ?) I’ve had in NYC! Their café de olla is tasty with cinnamon and other warm spices. Def check this spot out if you’re in the area!“
“Five star for me !!! They never ever disappoint. The quesadilla with shrimp is my go to absolute favorite. Every time I order it's just so good. They are quick to deliver, pleasant on the phone if u have a question and also have great desserts that are not overly priced like other places. Thank u for a Delicious dinner.“
“I really enjoy this place. Food is great and always fresh. I love the tres leches cake and the fish tacos. The mexican decorations around the restaurant are so beautiful. I also like that is a family owned business. Service is great. I like going atleast once a week.“
“Authentic Mexican place in Floral park. Our kids found this place online and traveled here for good good. We’ve been here many times and tried variety of food.Birria tacos are so flavorful and authentic. Pupusa, nacho supreme, tacos (all kinds), fajita, burritos- all excellent! If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, this is a good place!“
“Loved the Tacos and cocktails we had here this last taco Tuesday. We loved the vibes at this spot too, fun artwork lines the walls and it’s super cozy!Highly recommend trying the Salmon Dish, the Birria tacos and the Azteca soup — it is perfectly seasoned!“
“The food doesn’t have much of taste, over-prices and smaller in portions but the service is very good. Friendly servers. Indoor seating g is limited to two tables despite enough space. Well decorative witb quotes and stuff (irrelevant to a food post) Plus point is it’s HALAL.“
“I'm a teacher in the neighborhood of this establishment. After an exhausting and long day at work today, I decided to treat myself to dinner before heading home. Katherine was amazing. She was friendly and attentive. (Even her perfume was amazing! Lol) The next time you come to LaCasita, I hope Katherine is your server and bartender. You won't be disappointed! Xo“
“It has a nice cute theme and awesome food all the food is good takes some time to come out but is 100% worth it you should definitely try to come here if you have time!Kid-friendliness: There’s a kids menu with lots of amazing options for the little ones the best menu item from kids menu is probably quesadillas?“
“I was here last night around 8:30pm for the first time and my experience was 10 out of 10. I had the guava coconut margarita on the rocks and it was what I needed after working a 12 hour shift. I'll definitely be returning not because of the great food but because of how kind and pleasant the staff was!!!!!“
“It's a great spot to eat. I have always passed by and the color and decor attracted me. The food is good and the prices aren't bad. They have a big menu. Lots of options to choose from and happy hour is till 8! The place isn't too big but it's cozy and has outdoor seating. Try it out!“
“Went to Gordo's, got the mole negro, asada tacos and chorizo quesadilla with several drinks and had a great time. The chorizo quesadilla was by-far the fav out of what my friend and I ordered. Their quesadillas are served open-faced, featuring seared cheese and meat and are definitely the most unique, expressive item they have on the menu. The chorizo is well-seasoned and charred to perfection. Will strongly rec this to anyone wanting to know what's worth their time and money on the menu. The mole negro was also good. The sauce is the star of the show; it's flavorful, rich and generously applied to the chicken enchiladas. The tortillas and chicken on their own are mild but that's okay because they're a canvas for this absolutely fire mole sauce. Would also recommend this. The asada tacos are good but I wouldn't get them again. They felt pretty standard; like something I could get from a birria taco truck for a lil bit less but hey, you're also paying for vibes and service.Speaking of, our server was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. All of her recommendations delivered.Drinks were strong. Wished I skipped the michelada my first round and went straight for the margaritas, which had a generous pour.Check it out. Def worth the visit.“
“Outstanding!Came in very late after missing connecting flight, arrived to hear the kitchen was closing but they allowed me to order last second. All of the staff were attentive, warm and welcoming. The food was great. Guac was solid and the chips had a perfect crunch. Birria was excellent - large portion and great flavor.Felt bad about keeping the kitchen staff late so I bought them a round of beers and was treated like family. I’m sure most feel the same after coming in.Don’t know whether I’ll be in Queens again, but if I am, I’ll be stopping by.Thank you Lime & Salt, topped off a rough day with a great night!“
“It so happened that I've just gotten back from Mexico the week before so I had a fresh palate to compare Tacombi's tacos to. Well, they taste just like they do in Mejico! No water-down "Americanized" or Tex-mex here. Every ingredient adds flavor. Their tortillas are made of flavorful corn (not flavorless flour that just holds things together), their meats are deliciously seasoned and juicy (they don't rely on cheeses and salty greasy rice to get flavor), and their home-made salsas for the tacos go so well with the specific meat.My favorites? Baja Fish. The batter is light and crispy, and the cabbage and sauce make it a party flavor. A close second are the Sinaloa Shrimp and the Beef Birria (the consome is delicious).Since I don't live far, I've started to be a regular with my budsfor 2 for 1 Taco Tuesdays. We love that we don't have to wait to get seated, that the atmosphere is simple and casual, but more importantly, the service is friendly (thank you Deandra!) and quick! My wife also likes this place but, because she's vegetarian, there's only one type of taco (Black Bean & Sweet Potato) and one tostada (Avocado Tostada) that she can pick from. She loves those though! My only recommendation to Tacombi is to switch to corn on the cob for the street corn and to pleeez add Carnitas, another vegetarian choice (maybe re-fried beans and Nopal, or with Jackfruit [Yaka]) and, since it's roots are from Yucatan, why not Cochinita Pibil?All-in-all, not just one of my favorite spots in Forest Hills but actually in Queens!“
“This is my first Yelp review ever but this modest little restaurant deserves it. Not only is the food surprisingly delicious but the owners and staff are warm, welcoming and generous. They always offer something while waiting for take out and when eating in they take the time to talk to you and make you feel part of things. They even remember me from one visit to another which is something I never experienced before. I fully recommend. Everything is good but we particularly love the Burria tacos only served on weekends as well as the specials they offer which are always .. well... special!“
“Just Halal Fusion is a win/win for the local community and the consumer. The food is made with great care using high quality fresh ingredients and the highest standard of handling practices. The quality of the food, quantity, price, and highly varied selection translates to tremendous value for the customer. Not many establishments in the area are able to check all of these boxes. My whole family and many of my friends frequent this restaurant many times a week for this reason. All of their offerings are the perfect combination of delicious, affordable, and filling. The food preparers will always make your food exactly to your request and will quickly remedy any mishaps. The restaurant is always kept clean and all staff are extremely courteous. I couldn't recommend Just Halal and their wide array of tasty options enough. From Quesadillas to Kebabs, you will not be disappointed.Parking: Free parking allowed at the strip mall across the street.Kid-friendliness: Options for kids (kid-sized meals and beverages)“
“The best birria tacos! Super juicy and loaded and they come with pickled onions on the side. Convenient location right next to parking lot. I usually get the meal (3 tacos and consome) and one or two extra tacos. Very filling. Staff are fast and friendly. Bring cash and don’t forget to tip.“
“when you enter the interior is kind of odd with one table inside along with a few window seats (two tables outside) but don’t let that turn you away. the food was fresh & tasty.I ordered the Chilaquiles & the grilled chicken caesar wrap. the Chilaquiles had a wonderful green sauce & lots of yummy cheese. the caesar wrap was jam packed with fresh crunchy lettuce, avocado, caesar dressing, & grilled chicken.(side note, the fries were delicious too! thin, crispy, & seasoned well!)it’s a small business folks…food takes time. this isn’t fast food mediocrity!the service was great & attentive. it’s a solid choice! Will come again :)“
“Solid Mexican restaurant in the heart of corona queens nyc! We had a great time our server was really nice and friendly and defintely gave us some fantastic suggestions. ? had the fajitas which were amazing and filling. My only feedback was that it was a little bit expensive for the small portion sizes so maybe they could help reflect that in their portion sizes with an increase ?Vegetarian options: Fish tacos and saladsDietary restrictions: Labeled menuParking: Hard to find parking better take the metroKid-friendliness: Kid friendly!Wheelchair accessibility: Ample space“
“Me and my girlfriend have lived around this area for two years and just stumble upon this restaurant, it was a great experience! Good food, great service and even though it was not crowded since we went at around 3 pm on a cold Thursday, the music was great and it was enjoyable. Happy to find gems like this in my community!“
“Ordered a taco instead of a burrito they remade my order and gave me the taco with no issue, the owner is a great guy and you feel like family as soon as you walk in. Don’t forget about how good the food is as well! Would recommend this spot to anyone who likes a fresh authentic burrito!“
“We three ate here today. Tony, visiting from Ireland, and I each had the 1/2 rack of ribs which we both agreed was excellant, fall off the bone good. I had as my 2 sides collard greens and corn. Both sides were very good, seemed to have a slight pickled flavor and went down easily. She had the pulled pork sandwich, which she found excellent to include the thin bread, and she had to have the bread pudding for dessert, which was topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, so we had to help her finish it as it was too big for one person! Definitely the best rib place for both ribs and sides, we look forward to returning. The interior may seem a bit small but in the good sunny sumertime they have outdoor seating for well over a hundred diners. There's plenty of free parking, it's all located in the area behind Fairchild's Funeral parlor. The service is friendly and timely. Do yourself a favor, if you like ribs, you'll like the SmokHaus.Parking: Huge free parking lot behind behind the restaurant“
“My Cubana was made from scratch. My cubano weighs over a pound My coupon nestles on lightly grilled halves of a roll, with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and avocado on the bottom, a thinly sliced, lightly battered pork chop in the middle, juicy sausages, bits of bacon and pickled jalapeños, an omelette with chopped up beef, thin slices of ham, and freshly shredded mozzarella cheese melted on top. I'm pretty sure there were other flavors in the sandwich that I missed, because each layer was a revelation. This thing is HUGE - share with a friend or treat yourself to two solid meals. Highly recommend!“
“First I visited the restaurant when I was on my way to Texas then I saw this this place and there were a lot of food options then I ask for the recommendation and they told me that the burrito ball is really good because I can put anything in it or you can say that it is more like a custom ball, then I take there there recommended food and it was really good and it is more healthy so I gave it 10/10 specialty with there white and chipotle sauces so I recommend you guys this place for healthy and value for money food.“
“Omg!!! Delicious food and excellent service. Everything was fresh and top quality. The owners came to say hello and they are so warm and super nice people! Our server recommend a special dish that is not on the Menu, “Molcajete Loco” and let me tell you, You must try this ? a true exquisite experience!Kid-friendliness: Several options for kids menu.“
“Mexican food is my favorite and all these “authentic” Mexican places (with no Spanish workers let alone Mexican workers) cannot compete at all. Took me a while to try it out because I was tired of being disappointed but they did NOT disappoint!!!!“
“Yummy Tamales!!I had the Adobo tamal and Raja Pollo tamal. I also had champurrado, but I would not recommend it because it taste like straight up flour and water with a pinch of chocolate in which you do not taste (please improve the recipe). I say this with much love ?“
“Ive been to many mexican restaurants and this will ALWAYS come on top. going to Puerta Mexicana is a gift and something I always love to do with friends and family. This restaurant has opened my eyes to everything birria, and i’m never going back. The birria quesadilla is amazing and I love to get it with extra lime. The atmosphere is so cozy and decorated and i love Puerta Mexicana with all of my heart???“
“My first time trying this place since it changed its name. We ordered tamales, tacos and a torta. Tamales taste authentic, much larger than what I’m used too, but that’s a plus. Torta had a lot of meat, very good. Tacos were also very good, and loaded with meat. I enjoyed the salsa verde and the spicy red salsa as well. I’ve been hoping for a good authentic Mexican spot in Whitestone so I don’t have to drive to College Point or Corona, so glad I gave this place another chance.“
“I came here for drinks and dancing on a Friday night. There was a $10 cover when we got there around 10:15. They serve food until midnight. Earlier in the evening, they had tables set up, but they were moving those out of the way when we arrived to create more space. It seemed like a drag show had just finished. They had a few bar stools along the walls and kept a couple tables at the back. We got chips and guac. The guac tasted fresh and the chips were nice and crispy. Good portion size as well. Their drink prices were very reasonable. I got a well drink for $9. They also had a few specials like a beer and a shot, also for $9. They had a handful of single occupancy bathrooms, which were relatively clean. The music however was disappointing. It was mostly house music. Decent beats, but very few recognizable songs that you could sing along to. It got decently full, but wasn't overly crowded. Folks generally seemed friendly. A good number of people were dancing. I might consider coming again, but would try to pick a day with a different DJ genre.“
“OMG, 3mmm Tree Coffee Deli was definitely spectacular. The look of this place is really nice. I really love every single thing I have ordered there. The service was also exceptional and everyone was friendly. I certainly see myself returning here in the future.“
“Great addition to the list of authentic Mexican restaurants in 138th street. The food and service are stellar at the upscale Hacienda Agave. We started out with appetizers- tortas with chicharrón, ceviche, tlacoyo, tuna tostadas and esquisites. It was all delicious. Next up were quesadilla de Carnitas: soo good! The mole de pollo which was phenomenal and every dish tasted better than the next. The Chamorra was my favorite- lamb shank in a rich stew, we also had the Branzino- which came beautifully wrapped in corn husk, it was moist and had a very delicate scent of herbs. For dessert: the churros were crispy and soft with dulce de leche. The tres leches was perfect and not too sweet and the flan was velvety and rich. The cocktails are varied and there are choices for all tastes. I started off with a non alcohol drink- cucumber and ginger- the bar was so accommodating and made our dinner party horchata martinis and a non alcoholic horchata martini! Highly Recommend !“
“Decided to celebrate Taco Tuesday when visiting in Astoria. We arrived around 7, just missing Happy Hour but regardless I needed a drink. Started out with their signature. It was perfect! For our entrees we had the chicken tacos and the camarones al ajo. Definitely hit the spot. We passed on dessert but will be back!“
“I absolutely loved this place. Totally memorable. I celebrated my husband's 60th birthday and they went above and beyond on thier hospitality. I really was pleased I chose this place. The food was very enjoyable and very nice presentation, a succulent artistry . The owners are so sweet. I wish them the best in success for thier business.“
“Tried their birria tacos and they're lovely! Packed with beef, cheese, and savory, tangy birria on the side. Burrito bowls were also good, but the birria tacos are the star of the show here! Friendly and attentive staff, especially drew! We hope to see you again soon!“
“We have gone there a few times, and EACH time we get great food that tastes so fresh and hot. Also, I’ve always noticed that every server, and other workers always SMILE when they attend to your table. My family enjoys eating at such a nice local eatery.“
“Some of the best Al pastor tacos I’ve had in nyc, with a good price. The serving of meat is overly generous, pipping hot & delicious. Sweet pineapple and fresh cilantro balance it out perfectly. Tacos are grilled in oil and super piping hot - almost impossible to pick up right away. Use a fork!“
“We loved the food, the service was excellent. The waitress was on point!! Very attentive, it was a very clean and chill environment. The men's bathroom was very clean!!! We will eat there again !!! We thank them and shout out to the chef!!!“
“This spot is very pretty and aesthetic although it’s small. Honestly the food wasn’t that good. Everyone that I went with thought their food was just okay and pretty bland. The guacamole options are cool and the churros were pretty tasty. The service was great and they had a lot of options on the menu so maybe we just didn’t get the right things.Dietary restrictions: They were able to take out dairy from the dishes and were sure to check with the kitchen about a sauce they had.“
“I am a s***** for discoveries. So I cheated a little and saw a TikTok of a guy going into the middle of Corona to buy pizza, what????? The Tiktok was pretty cool, they highlighted this guy who has a wood fired pizza oven on the corner of 111th st and 37th Ave. I thought the pizza looked great so I decided to drive over, the pizza takes a few minutes to make but it was well worth it. The price was super reasonable at $12-$15 a pie depending on the toppings and comes with 6 slices. Overall, I had a great experience but it didn't occur to me that today was raining, so the crust today felt a little under but because it was raining it would totally affect the outcome of the pie. I will be back to make a second visit. He has a google page and his ig is instagram.com/tauro_wfpi…. I would drive and I would also call ahead if you are in a rush. His hours are Tues-Sun 5pm to 11pm.The food:Quattro Stagion Pizza- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, artichoke, mushroom, ham, basil, black olives. I thought this was great, it was also my fav. I really enjoyed the fresh toppings and the addition of the fresh basil made a huge difference. With all their pies their tomato sauce is amazing. yelp.com/user_local_phot…Mexicana- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy sausage, jalapeno, onion and basil. This was really interesting and of course it had some heat. The sausage which I think was chorizo had a good texture and taste. I think they ran out of jalapeno so they used I think serrano chilies instead and even though they sliced it thin, it did have a punch of heat which I enjoyed. yelp.com/user_local_phot…Margeurita- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil and olive oil. This was the most simple but two out of the four of us said it was their fav. I did like it but to me it was a bit bare. Overall, it's good for purist. yelp.com/user_local_phot…“
“This place was a first try for me, the atmosphere was down to earth and the employees handled my order with a smile. And they even have Mexican soda. The food was amazing and my most favorite dish was the steak birria tacos. It was PHENOMENAL.Vegetarian options: There are veggie tacos and they also have a veggie taco salad.Kid-friendliness: There are mini sized tacos for kids and other things that come small sizes. Perfect portion for kids.“
“Had ordered on GrubHub a quesabirria , carne asada with rice & beans, and jamaica juice . Hands down , amazing food! Homestyle flavor but with a restaurant presentation. The packing was great and not messy! Thank you so much for the delicious food will be ordering again!“
“Everything was amazing!! I’ve been eyeing the place and always smelled their delicious food when walking by and they did NOT disappoint! So glad i tried it and look forward to going again. Only thing is the coconut rice needs to be toned down, I love coconut but that was overkill lol.“
“My family and I went in on a whim today and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was Amazing! And the staff were very attentive too and they got the order perfect! We cant wait to go again! Ps we got the burrito bowls, one chicken, one beef! Very fresh ingredients! Way to go, Guac Time!“
“Pico is our go to last minute date night spot. Food taste great, service is quick and friendly and the atmosphere is always welcoming, cozy and laid back. You come here to relax and have a plentiful meal and a tasty cocktail? ? then you go home happy and fed.“
“Tried their burrito bowl with honey chicken option and tacos with steak/chicken. All the protein were seasoned, cooked well and served hot. Veggies were fresh. One of the servers was really helpful with making great recommendations!Would highly recommend give this place a try!!“
“We were utterly shocked at the delicious, authentic Mexican food served at this hole in the wall spot. The chips were hot & freshly made, & all five of us enjoyed our food. It’s a small space, though, & looks like it used to be a bodega/corner store, but it was one of the best Mexican meals I’ve ever had, & the staff is so friendly & considerate. So if you’re in the area, definitely give it a try.“
