A variety of Haitian dishes. The food aroma brought us in. The nice attendant, Clotide, was helpful in describing the options. All the dishes were delicious. They made some while we waited. BEST JERK CHICKEN EVER!!! I've been living in Huntington for 4 years and had no idea this place existed. Coming from Queens I've had a lot of good Caribbean food. I've also been to many of the islands (including Jamaica) and Akra makes the best jerk chicken I've ever had in my entire life! Not just that, but the oxtail is also amazing! The rice is amazing! This is a takeout restaurant, but you can sit inside if necessary. I ordered the Poisson Frit, Peas & Rice, Plantain and was very happy with the food & service. The food was ready in good time and well made. The Poisson Frites was crispy, well seasoned, and fresh - cooked perfect. The rice and plantain were delicious and not too oily. The service was pleasant and they give you a nice portion for the price. Would recommend and will be eating here again.
