“Even though we arrived early we were promptly seated in this stunning ADK rustic inspired dining room. The vaulted room is flanked by two stone hearths. Great atmosphere. Our server was polite, friendly, well informed on the menu, and she even took some time to chit chat with us. The food was top notch. Everything was cooked just right. Highly recommend.“

“If your into Bavarian pretzels or movie theatre pretzel bites, theirs are the best I've come across and it's homemade pretzel bread!...Boomer pie was an awesome white pie. This place is serving the kind of homemade dough every pizza place wants to achieve...crispy, fluffy, fresh. Get the homemade blue cheese on the side of anything you might want it with, she is CHUNKY and fresh...Campfire sour cocktail was exceptional, it just tastes like the smell of a spicy campfire. Delicious. IZ was our server and she recommended everything we already wanted to try and was an awesome server. We will absolutely be back. This place is worth leaving the hotels downtown for if your visiting lake placid!Vegetarian options: Falafel was probably the best I've ever had.“

“The Salt of the Earth Bistro will go down as one of the best restaurants i've ever been to. After constantly driving past this place heading into Lake Placid, my dad and I decided to make a reservation for dinner to celebrate completing the ADK 46er challenge. The food was delicious, the waiter had amazing attention to detail and was extremely knowledgeable. I would give 10 stars if I could. The price is 100% worth it.“

“We have eaten here a few times. The atmosphere is cozy and has an Adirondack feel. The food is delicious and homemade. The meat is smoked in house. The smoked wings are delicious. Owners son is very friendly and makes you feel at home. Our server was attentive and friendly. Off the beaten path of the main drag in Lake Placid which is nice. Definitely check them out if you are in the area.“

“Very nice place. Went a little early before the regular dinner crowd. Very good service loved the brisket Frenchdip.Parking: Can be hard at times to find parking during ski season or summertime, but if you're walking to visit the shops, this is worth the stop for a meal.“

“Wonderful location and beautiful view (we sat right by the windows) but the food was overall nothing special. Hot latte was good, not great. Ordered the sausage biscuit sandwich which was pretty good but the side potatoes were not. Also ordered the French toast fondue and didn’t finish it because it was so awful. I didn’t catch the servers name but she had a great attitude and was very helpful. Go if you want, but there are definitely better places.“

“During a recent family trip to Lake Placid, NY, we decided to try out Big Mountain Deli & Crêperie, a place we'd heard about for its wide selection of sandwiches and crêpes. Established in 2007 by Phoebe Burns and her mother, Holly, the deli has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects their passion for food and the beautiful Olympic town they call home. What caught our attention was their extensive menu, boasting 46 different sandwiches, each named after Adirondack peaks, and a variety of sweet and savory crêpes. The sandwiches, with options ranging from roast turkey to smoked salmon, and even vegetarian choices, were tempting. However, it was the sweet crêpes section that ultimately won us over, particularly the Bananas & Nutella crêpe.Opting for the Bananas & Nutella crêpe was a unanimous family decision, and it did not disappoint. Made with a French vanilla bean batter, the crêpe was perfectly thin and delicate, enveloping the rich, creamy Nutella and freshly sliced bananas. It was a delightful blend of flavors that had us all savoring each bite. The kids, especially, declared it the best part of the meal, already asking when we could return for more.Aside from the food, the service at Big Mountain Deli & Crêperie was top-notch. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. It's easy to see why this place is a favorite among both locals and travelers. Our visit to Big Mountain Deli & Crêperie was a memorable one, not just for the delicious Bananas & Nutella crêpe, but for the overall experience. It’s a must-visit spot in Lake Placid, whether you’re in the mood for a hearty sandwich or a sweet treat. We’re already looking forward to our next visit“

“We dined here for dinner tonight (April 26, 2024). Our waitress (I didn’t catch her name. She was working on the second floor around 5/5:30) was amazing. Our boys were all out of sorts when we arrived. She was so caring and understanding. She brought over crackers for the boys to snack on and coloring pages to help them calm down. My 2 year old loved the puppy coloring page so much, he took it with him and proceeded to show everyone we saw his puppy picture. Her service was above and beyond.Further, the food was fantastic. That Maple Melt was perfect. My husband said the black and blue burger was the best burger he’s had in a long time.“

“We came to enjoy a meal as we were travelling around the town and we had a great time. Our waitress was super helpful and kind and got us our food and drinks out very quickly. The food was amazing and the coffee I had was great! Definitely a great spot to stop by when you’re in town!“
“Peak 47 is the casual restaurant located within the Whiteface Lodge. It sits right next door to Kanu, the hotel's fancier option. We actually prefer the laid-back atmosphere of Peak 47 to Kanu. The food is great, the decor is beautiful, and the service has always been top-notch. Peak 47 is one of our go-to restaurants to visit in the Lake Placid area. Highly recommended!“

“Food was very good, as was our server. Where they lose a star is we were sat close to the main windows, and saw many spiders (10+) and spider webs inside the restaurant on the windows. My wife has a fear of spiders, so this made things a little unpleasant. Other than that, everything was pretty good.“

“Read to the end, please! Would have been a 5+-star review except when we arrived on Tuesday lunch (visiting for the week from Canada). paid for on-street parking, and walked in the freezing cold to find they were closed for 2 days for renovations, we were not happy. BUT, we went back on Thursday and my wife had the Mozzerella Spendini which were SUPER!!! My daily special of Shrimp Caeser Salas was good, but not outstanding. I did enjoy it though. Service was good and I would have loved to talk more with the server and manager about where they were from. It shows in their food in the best way.“

“We came through for the eclipse and were looking for a bite to eat in town. After walking the whole strip and seeing how overpriced so many of the other options were, the prices of Wyatt's were refreshing. So we stopped in for some upstate NY tex-mex... and hot damn if we weren't pleasantly surprised! Considering how busy the town was that day, the service was quite quick, and the food was DELICIOUS! A great little grab and go spot that we'll be revisiting next time we trek up.“

“Such a great vibe here. The staff is friendly and attentive. Three people asked if we were taken care of within the first few minutes of standing near the hostess stand. The workers here have a good dynamic and it spreads throughout the restaurant in both the quality of the food and the service. Everything was reasonably priced, and the basil mocktail was delicious. Will definitely return next time I'm in town!Vegetarian options: The chickpea stew was excellent!“
