“Such a great vibe here. The staff is friendly and attentive. Three people asked if we were taken care of within the first few minutes of standing near the hostess stand. The workers here have a good dynamic and it spreads throughout the restaurant in both the quality of the food and the service. Everything was reasonably priced, and the basil mocktail was delicious. Will definitely return next time I'm in town!Vegetarian options: The chickpea stew was excellent!“

“Even though we arrived early we were promptly seated in this stunning ADK rustic inspired dining room. The vaulted room is flanked by two stone hearths. Great atmosphere. Our server was polite, friendly, well informed on the menu, and she even took some time to chit chat with us. The food was top notch. Everything was cooked just right. Highly recommend.“

“If your into Bavarian pretzels or movie theatre pretzel bites, theirs are the best I've come across and it's homemade pretzel bread!...Boomer pie was an awesome white pie. This place is serving the kind of homemade dough every pizza place wants to achieve...crispy, fluffy, fresh. Get the homemade blue cheese on the side of anything you might want it with, she is CHUNKY and fresh...Campfire sour cocktail was exceptional, it just tastes like the smell of a spicy campfire. Delicious. IZ was our server and she recommended everything we already wanted to try and was an awesome server. We will absolutely be back. This place is worth leaving the hotels downtown for if your visiting lake placid!Vegetarian options: Falafel was probably the best I've ever had.“

“Being new to town, I'm trying to experience as many different places as I can. This has, hands down, been one of the best experiences I have had so far. The owner, Bill, and my server Kara (sp?), were not only accommodating when they realized I was having a very tough day, but went out of their way to be kind and understanding during my time there even though they were extremely busy. That kind of service is what makes a place go from good to great. Thank you both for the kindness that you showed me and the impact you made on my life today. I will happily return and also recommend Top of the Park and Players to others.“

“The Salt of the Earth Bistro will go down as one of the best restaurants i've ever been to. After constantly driving past this place heading into Lake Placid, my dad and I decided to make a reservation for dinner to celebrate completing the ADK 46er challenge. The food was delicious, the waiter had amazing attention to detail and was extremely knowledgeable. I would give 10 stars if I could. The price is 100% worth it.“

“Busy little restaurant with excellent, attentive service. Limited seating but table turnover was quick. Appreciated having several vegetarian and vegan options. Our avacoda paninis was yummy served along with fries. Must admit we were checking out selections of food being served around us and they all looked delicious, nice presentation. ? A bit pricey; especially if feeding a family. Fortunately we were a party of two.? Not conducive for disabled using transport assistance. Clean, single room restroom located in the back. Will definitely return when back in the area.“

“Very nice place. Went a little early before the regular dinner crowd. Very good service loved the brisket Frenchdip.Parking: Can be hard at times to find parking during ski season or summertime, but if you're walking to visit the shops, this is worth the stop for a meal.“

“Wonderful location and beautiful view (we sat right by the windows) but the food was overall nothing special. Hot latte was good, not great. Ordered the sausage biscuit sandwich which was pretty good but the side potatoes were not. Also ordered the French toast fondue and didn’t finish it because it was so awful. I didn’t catch the servers name but she had a great attitude and was very helpful. Go if you want, but there are definitely better places.“

“My friends and I had just finished a very long hike to Mount Marcy and it was dark and we were quite famished. We called Main Street Pizza & Pasta and there was just barely enough time to order and pick up pizza before they closed. We kept it simple and ordered two large Grandma's pizzas. They were fantastic! Initially I thought that maybe it was so good because we were just so spent and hungry. But the next afternoon while driving home we ate the handful of leftover slices and they were just so good too. So I would definitely recommend this place. Oh, and the owner was pretty down to Earth and friendly.“

“An excellent Italian restaurant! We stumbled upon this place after our car broke down and while waiting for repairs, decided to at least make the best of being in town for a couple days. We loved their food so much, we had to come back for one more meal to try other items on the menu.I love that they had homemade bread and dipping oil provided with every meal and my favorite winter beer — Cold Snap on draft. We had excellent pasta meals and I loved the vegetarian options.Thank you so much for making our trip to Lake Placid memorable.“

“We dined here for dinner tonight (April 26, 2024). Our waitress (I didn’t catch her name. She was working on the second floor around 5/5:30) was amazing. Our boys were all out of sorts when we arrived. She was so caring and understanding. She brought over crackers for the boys to snack on and coloring pages to help them calm down. My 2 year old loved the puppy coloring page so much, he took it with him and proceeded to show everyone we saw his puppy picture. Her service was above and beyond.Further, the food was fantastic. That Maple Melt was perfect. My husband said the black and blue burger was the best burger he’s had in a long time.“

“We came to enjoy a meal as we were travelling around the town and we had a great time. Our waitress was super helpful and kind and got us our food and drinks out very quickly. The food was amazing and the coffee I had was great! Definitely a great spot to stop by when you’re in town!“

“Lovely vibes and the server Mark was delightful. An excellent addition to my romantic Christmas weekend with my husband. The price isn’t cheap but I feel the food/price/dining was very on-par with other small, unique fine-dining restaurants Ive frequented on vacation.We walked from a near-by hotel which was convenient as well.“

“Very creative sandwich menu. My spring chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious. Loaded with a combination of flavors thar paired beautifully. My wife enjoyed her gyro as well. Our seat on the outside deck added to a really enjoyable lunch.“

“I really like this place but it has gone down. First let's start with the food. It was fine nothing special. They used to serve home fries but they replaced it with mediocre hash browns. The eggs were eggs nothing of interest. The toast and pancakes were fine, not great. The server and service really brought back a star. The food came decently fast and the server was nice. Also the coffee and drinks came back is seconds!(ok maybe I'm exaggerating) the inside was a classic diner look, something you'd find in other places. The price was also a stare giver. But i guess you get what you pay for. Will maybe be returning, id give it a try though if i were you.“

“Food was very good, as was our server. Where they lose a star is we were sat close to the main windows, and saw many spiders (10+) and spider webs inside the restaurant on the windows. My wife has a fear of spiders, so this made things a little unpleasant. Other than that, everything was pretty good.“

“Best casual family dinner after long day of hiking! We had nice, fun cocktails, the best wedge salad ever and a highlight was the wild mushroom grain bowl with roasted tofu! Also recommend the French dip sandwich and fish and chips. There is an attached deli/bakery that looked fantastic and we will visit on another day.“

“We ordered delivery (contactless) and it arrived faster than the estimated arrival time. They called us after to let us know they delivered it. We got a pepperoni pizza and the zucchini. If you prefer a floppier slice this is definitely the place for you. It was all delicious.“

“No idea why this place is not the top rated place in this town. I was in lake placid twice this year, tried every place, many are nice and good, but from now on, I only go here (if they take me). The service is fast and nice, the food is great. There was live music and I got to see hockey, what more do people need. Between kids and me we tried pulled pork, brisket, burger, potato skins and ribs.“

“Service was a bit slow on the patio, but once the servers realized they had overlooked our table, they did their best to expedite our orders. I am from the NYC area and this was some of the best pizza I have ever had. The prices are definitely high for the area, but the pizza was well worth it. My husband and I were both starving so we each finished a personal pizza. The crust is quite thin so it’s not as heavy as it looks!“
