When I first arrived to Syracuse this was one of the first places I ate at I thought it was the cutest old world places I've seen .. went back recently still amazing tried the cheese stale was really good and fresh the most important thing to me .

A Liverpool staple. If you come to Liverpool, or cuse for that matter take the trip and stand in line. Have a white hot and some fries and enjoy a classic. Plain and simple. You're welcome.

Always a favorite since I was a kid. Hot dogs and fries are my usual order and it never disappoints. Staff is busy but are usually friendly. Plenty of Inside and outside seating.

Stopped here to enjoy a slice of old time diner style food. Arrived at 12:30 and the line was out the door, yet we moved quickly through the line as We were soon enjoying our meal. We ordered a meal deal with two coney dogs, fries and drink and a coney dog and macaroni salad. Very tasty, dogs had a nice snap to them. Got the Texas hot on one dog, not very spicy but good. Since we are staying in the area we stopped by after dinner. We got some ice cream next door. They have soft serve and hand scooped. Great outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful scenery across the street.

As I returned from my WNY trip, I've discovered I prefer the taste of Zweigles over Sahlens and Hoffman's, and... I'm addicted to chili on a hot dog. Lol!

I pass through Syracuse frequently and I'll stop here occasionally - if you are traveling eastbound on the NY thruway to I-81 south, or vice versa, it's really not out of the way. On weekends during nice weather expect to stand in line, even if it's not a normal mealtime. Like others have mentioned, I would recommend getting one of each slathered in their mustard, and that's what I typically order. Hofmann's dogs are seriously the best - if you are like most of the country and all you know is Ballpark and Oscar Mayer, this will be a mind blowing experience. Fries are also excellent. I don't know what the ice cream side is like but I saw they use Perry's so it's probably also really good.

Heid's was one of the favorite locations in Syracuse there were know for the best hot dogs!! I love the fries but didn't care for steak sandwich!! Please step your game up back to the great place they were years ago!!
I rarely negative review, however waiting in line for nearly 60 minuteson a monday, left after paying WITHOUT food because we had to make my son's baseball game. There was still 5 orders ahead waiting to be picked up. $40 for 6 hot dogs and 2 fries we didn't get. never. again.

Husband's " treat" stop while growing up in the local area. Definitely worth the stop. Feasted on Hoffmans frank + fried pickles + a LaBatts brew. Brown mustard - whoa! good! Fried pickles a little too salty for my taste buds. Line moves fast.

One of my favorite places for a casual dinner (or just a treat!) Heid's is right across from Onondaga Lake Parkway so it's great to take a walk afterwards, or pull out your bike or rollerblades! Their prices can't be beat - $9 for a hot dog, fries & a medium drink!

First time visitor, will definitely be back. The dogs are very good....the "snapper's" have more of a sausage vibe, but VERY flavorful. The mustard is homemade, and very spicy, but not overpowering. Fries are natural cut, and great. The place is VERY clean and well maintained. What put it to 5 stars for me was the service. It's a "seat yourself" place with no waitstaff, but the cashier keeps tabs on the people dining in. Offering to get you refills, take your tray when your done, "Let me know if you need anything". If you're in the Syracuse/Liverpool area, you will be doing yourself a dis-service if you do not try this place.
