“I’m writing this responding to a poor review. First of all, this is a neighborhood bar. Some might call it a dive bar, and if you’re the kind of person who understands how neighborhood bars work, then you know that you want certain things from that bar.Guilfoil’s is a gem. You walk in and find a spot. You wait your turn at the bar, and maybe that takes a few minutes. You pay cash because that saves money. The beer is cold and cheap, the whiskey pours are generous and cheap, the food is tasty and cheap. The jukebox plays the widest variety of music and nobody complains when you play your favorite song. There are sports on the TVs, and maybe a dog at your feet looking for a treat. This is exactly what an Irish pub is like. If you’ve traveled, either in the US or Ireland, you know that the Irish pub is a refuge, but not for the persnickety. It’s on its own time, and in its own place. You adjust to the Irish pub because you know that’s how it should be.I go to Guilfoil’s because they are happy to provide that brief respite from the rat race. It’s a slower pace, but that’s what I want when I’m there. People are friendly when you talk genuinely with them and who could ever want more from a pub?“

“Walked in with my family and my baby in his stroller at (what looked like) the busiest time for dinner on a Saturday night. The man at the host booth said that there was a 30 minute wait but when he saw us with our little one he was able to fix up a quick table for us. We were okay with waiting because the food and drinks are so great, but as a new mom it meant a lot to me that he went out of his way to accommodate my family. This is the kind of service that you remember and return to a restaurant over. Even though the place was packed, our food and drinks came out very quickly and tasted great. Bathroom was clean. Server was kind too. Next time you are going to dinner, no matter who you are with, you should consider The Hops Spot!! And be extra nice to the man at the door!!“

“I am not in the area often, but knew there had been a billiard table, here. Took me a while to figure out that this was the place that used to be called salt city. Must have been quite a hassle to change names and location, but they seem to have retained a good customer base and will survive the upheaval. I'm grateful that they also retained the carom billiard table and keep it in relatively decent shape.“

“We wound up here by accident. We were trying to go to a restaurant down the road and found out it was carryout only so we found Attilios! Our Server was lightning fast and very attentive. The food portions for the price was great. And just the fact it was hidden in the corner of an apartment building but had a very chic modern look but made you feel like you were 5 star dining. Overall a really good experience and would definetly recommend.“

For the price, it's a GREAT place to come grab food and have a drink (especially when it's nice outside and you can sit on the patio). “Phenomenal Event thanks to Asil's, where Emily and Lisa ensured our party was a success. We held our birthday event in their banquet room and guests were so pleased, calling it "a hit"! They were so attentive as event coordinators, responsive to our guests at the bar, and made the most outstanding delicious dishes that our guests kept going up for more than one serving!! I'm so grateful and highly recommend them over any of their competitors. Asil's is a class act who knocked it out of the park and made this birthday party a memorable, fun time. “What a gem of a place!!! Went out here to dine with my girlfriends for dinner on a friday night. I did make the reservation on Wednesday for friday at 5:30. I tried for 6:30 i think and they asked if we could accommodate. We did. Its obviously a popular spot for good reason. The server was kind, attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. We came here on recommendation by one of our friends. Afterward we agreed that we would be back again and keep this in the rotation.“

Andrea was super easy to work with and guests were raving about how good the food was- don't forget to try their blue cheese (which I think they make in house) ? “Al’s balances this incredibly rare thing of being a dive bar, but also an incredible cocktail bar all at the same time. I don’t recommend going late and being flooded with college kids but early in the evening, go and give them an idea for what you like, and drink something unique and delicious. A true gem.“

“There are some areas where this place gets 5 stars. The ambiance, music, and other activities to do make me want to give it 5 stars. I always have fun when a good band comes to town. The food didn't blow me away but it was good. Drinks are good and cheap but sometimes can take a while to get. Parking can be hectic on busy nights. Overall very cool bar with a beach dancefloor.“

“This place is truly a gem in the Syracuse area. We recently had a birthday party here and it was perfect. The owner, Pete, couldn’t be nicer and was incredibly accommodating. He wanted to make sure we had the perfect day and it was nothing shy of just that! I very strongly recommend the clipper tavern for a causal happy hour, a place to watch SU sports, a place to throw a party, and any/everything in between!!“

“We went to an event at Barbagallos and we're totally impressed with the food, the service, and a great, private room that was just the right size. The gluten free offerings were so tasty! Antipasto, mixed veggies, potatoes, and sausage with peppers and onions. My favorite was the mixed veggie: cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots - perfectly cooked and not over seasoned. I couldn't eat the fried chicken but it did look crispy and tempting. Drinks included bottomless mimosas and a cola. The mimosas had real orange juice in them. I don't think they were stirred because the top layer was not carbonated but the bottom was. Either way it was delicious. We were able to decorate the room as we wished which was a big plus. Everyone had a wonderful time!“

“A fun little bar when I got there, passing the microphone to the next in line as we all sat there are the bar singing the song we choose.Typical Karaoke singers, some good, some not, but ALL Welcomed when it was their turn... and applause for everyone who sang.A VERY mixed crowd that grew quickly as the night went on till the bar room filled.Then they opened "The Theater", a room the same size as the bar room, behind the back wall of the bar.Theater has a good stage with the DJ stand in the back corner, bench seating down both sides with bistro tables, and three rows of theater style seating in three raised tiers at the back of the room.I didn't eat but they have food.Great bartenders kept up with the drinks all night, even when the place got full, and the pool table stayed busy all night.“

“Well, my phone was dead so I couldn't take pictures! BUT a great place with great pizza AND wings! We went on a week day and it was very empty so easy to get a seat and service was great! Everyone seemed great and it was quick. We had the pizza and appetizer sample. Everything was super yummy! Great place to go with friends and watch any game on the many many screens!“
