We dined here on Easter Sunday. When I made the reservation, I also noted that it was my husband's birthday (that becomes relevant later). Our server, Fontini, was very pleasant but seemed overwhelmed throughout the service. We needed to request the drinks list, call her over to take our order, catch her attention again to order dessert, and yet again to get the check. Our drinks seem to have had only a passing acquaintance with the spirits that were supposed to have been ingredients. We asked for olive oil for our focaccia bread, but alas it never came. The apps & entrees were delicious, but we did notice servers plating desserts with their (ungloved) hands. While my husband was taking care of the check, I mentioned to Fontini that it was his birthday, and she was not aware of this (not really a big deal if I had not specifically mentioned this upon reservation.) She did however comp us an extra dessert to take home. We understand this was a holiday, but they certainly didn't do much to earn repeat visits from us, food quality notwithstanding.

From the moment we arrived, the parking was convenient and close to the entrance. Upon opening the door, there was a beautiful Easter display. We went there for Easter/my mom's 65th birthday, they had no problem serving us the outside cake we brought, at no extra charge. All the staff were extremely friendly. High recommend! It was a great experience.

I don't say this often, but The Davenport Press has never disappointed me. My family had dinner there on Easter Sunday. I usually don't eat out on major holidays for typical reasons, you are rushed, food not as good, etc. Not here. The Davenport Press was spot on. We were not disappointed. Everything was delicious. We were not rushed. Our wait staff was great. Thank you!

Cozy ambiance with a fireplace and lots of interesting items all around. We had lunch on a Saturday, with only about four tables occupied. Orders from another table were erroneously placed in front of us. The correct entrees then arrived but the appetizer came out after the entrees. I had a disappointing salad; it was listed as baby arugula and endive with Gorgonzola and pecans. I requested a substitution of goat cheese. Plate was a heap of arugula with some small pieces of the base of the endive leaves scattered throughout, four broken pieces of pecan, and about a half dozen pea-sized pieces of goat cheese. Not worth the price. My dining partner did love their eggplant rollatini and the wonderful bread (though they were never offered the selection of rolls etc that had come out when I was first seated). They were very nice about allowing us to linger a bit after we finished eating. Though our lunch was a bit up and down, and prices in general are a bit on the higher side, we will try this restaurant again in the hope of a great experience.

The food was tasty and they have a lot of specials which spice up a rather standard menu. The ambience was so-so, very dated - though it was trying for that “through the years” vibe. It's in an odd location and the clientele seemed to be mostly regulars. Service was attentive. We probably would not return.

My Wife & I have dined many times at the Davenport Press this is on of our favorites and each time we bring new people with us they compliment us the setting of the dining room along with the great service as the waiter/ waitress sees to all our needs and the wonderful foods on the menu sometimes makes it difficult to choose

Great atmosphere in old-fashioned room with fireplace. Expensive sandwiches, burgers but high quality. At lunch, service tatter slow because seemed like only one waiter, but well-done. Good soups. Has full bar but we stayed alcohol-free.

The service was excellent. Very loud on Peak Busy times. Seating is very tight. They pack you in. If you are looking for a quiet, intimate setting, this is not the place on busy peak times. The food was okay. Steaks are great. Salad was okay. You are going there for the steaks. I had stuffed shrimp with crab meat. Real crab meat. It was a little on the dry side. The potatoes were good. The chocolate cake was decent, but the actual cake was very dry. Service was amazing, and you are not rushed.Parking: Valet parking

Phenomenal food. They had an old school feel and the service was great. The gnochi and the duck were fantastic!

Food was good, service was fair. Waited a long time to be served at the bar and waitress gave the wrong information regarding gluten. Was informed after a few bites that the dinner did in fact have flour in the sauce resulting in not being able to eat the rest of the meal. Had to wait for a steak to be prepared medium rare. Due to the rush, it came out raw in the middle.
