Food Courts near Mt Vernon, NY

Steve’s Desk Food Court •
123 Stevens Ave, Mt Vernon

“I don't get it. Why is the menu different EVERY DAY? Also, the hours are inconsistent, sometimes they open at 12:15, sometimes 12:30, sometimes 1:00. Don't even try to get there around closing time. If you're lucky, they MIGHT have something left over for you. Also, the owner is really nice, but if you show up later in the day he'll just sit at his desk and ignore you with his headphones on. Like we get it, dude, you're busy, but this is your business. Anyway, love the tacos.“

“My family and I decided to dine at the Northend Food Hall last Friday, following a friend's recommendation. Despite the crowd, mainly families with young children, and the noise, we eventually secured a table for four. Our orders included birria tacos and Mexican Elote from La Chula Taqueria, a burger with fries from Harlem Public, and a Dominican pizza from the renowned Wahizza. The food surpassed our expectations; my son particularly enjoyed the birria tacos and Mexican Elote. Personally, I found nostalgia in the Dominican Pizza, reminiscent of my childhood in the Dominican Republic. Additionally, my wife indulged in a frozen margarita from the bar, thoroughly relishing it. Overall, our dining experience exceeded expectations, and we're eager to return and explore more culinary delights.“

“The build your own bowl was mostly inedible. The chicken was completely dry and tasteless. The "warm" sides of broccoli and sweet potato were barely cooked. The rice base was quite good but paying $14 for a lunch that was largely horrible is a huge disappointment.Ted from the market asked me to reach out. We discussed the meal. He offered me a meal and I chose the chicken parmesan sandwich. Excellent. Improved the score due to actual meal and responsive management.“

Chef Samir Truck Food Court • $$
New York

“Chef Samir's truck (used to be Comme Ci Comme Ca?) has been around for several, maybe ten years. Since he changes the location daily, unlike the other food trucks, you have to look at his tweet to see where he is. And unlike other food trucks, where you find one you like and decide to visit again and find out someone totally different is operating it and tastes completely different, chef Samir is still on the truck making his food. The first time I tried his food several years ago, I was amazed you could get this high-quality food from a food truck. But since he moved around and I didn't know how to track him years went by, then I saw his truck on 41st and 6 Ave, a block away from my office. Skeptical if the food was still the same, I went and behold, I see Chef Samir in the truck serving food! and the food tasted exactly the same as before! Tanjin-style cooking? Probably the only food truck that serves large pieces of vegetables cooked in flavorful broth(?) on a bed of fluffy cous cous with marinated chicken or other meats. I can't say I tried all the food trucks in the city, but it's definitely one of the best food you can order from a food truck. I hope he keeps it going as long as he can.“

“Great food and very clean. A medium size lunch from the buffet cost $15.53 with a can of soda. For these prices in the Bronx you could go to the Merry Chinese buffet for lunch. The area is clean and service was good. I had a choice to pay these prices. In the future I would look at my options. The prices here are what doctors and high income professionals can afford.“

The Big Kitchen Food Court •
Empire City Casino, 810 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers

“The rotisserie chicken is served with cooked carrots broccoli and cauliflower - crisp but a little boring. It also comes with a roasted garlic head. Press the cloves sour of the head, mash them with your fork and use it to rub the chicken in. OUTSTANDING. Overall a very good disk. I've ordered it several times and enjoyed it each time.“

Savor Westchester Food Court •
Westchester Ave, White Plains

“WOW! The Westchester is so fancy, they don't just have a Food Court. Oh, no. It's a FOOD HALL, and the appropriately named Savor is where it's at! However, this isn't your average setup with Sbarro and Taco Bell. Nope! Take your pick from eight different kiosks, all which serve up tasty offerings made fresh to order. And now, without further ado.. the lineup, plus my Morgan's Must Try pick off the menu! Whitman's New York The Lowdown: Fast-casual upscale burger joint out of NYC. Burgers (duh), salads, and sandwiches plus fries and homemade iced tea and lemonade. Morgan's Must Try Pick: PB&B Burger - their signature menu item! A sweet/salty/savory wave of flavor! Peanut butter slathered on a griddled potato bun atop a beef patty with applewood bacon. Yum! Tomato & Co The Lowdown: It's like Chipotle, but Italian. Build your own pizzas, pastas, and salads. If this amount of freedom makes you uncomfortable, they also have chef-created options. Morgan's Must Try Pick: Seriously, go nuts! I recommend anything with vodka sauce, though! Bluestone Lane Coffee The Lowdown: Cute and aesthetically pleasing coffee bar that also serves up a variety of millennial and Instagram friendly toasts. Morgan's Must Try Pick: The Bluestone house brand Passionfruit seltzer is pretty much the elixir of the gods. Get it! For an accompanying bite, you can't go wrong with the classic avocado toast. #Basic, but amazing. The Little Beet The Lowdown: Made to order healthful bowls of goodness. Take your pick from creatively prepared grains, proteins, and of course, vegetables. Morgan's Must Try Pick: The Yuzu Sesame Avocado is a great option for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, as it is tender, filling and flavorful. The Spirulina Sushi Rice is TO DIE FOR. Do not miss out! Juice Generation The Lowdown: Full service juice bar serving up smoothies, açaí bowls, fresh squeezed juices (duh), raw salads, and a couple of bakery items. Morgan's Must Try Pick: The Watermelon Dragon Smoothie, which packs a punch of cherry, lime, dragonfruit, strawberry, and watermelon in this refreshing coconut based smoothie. Hai Street Kitchen The Lowdown: Japanese-style cuisine with an emphasis on sushi burritos and poke bowls. Again, it's Chipotle but Japanese, with chef-driven options for those who are indecisive. Morgan's Must Try Pick: I like to create my own, personally, but out of the menu offerings, the Salmon Aioli Poke Bowl is the best. It's like a bowl full of spicy salmon. I dig it. For social media influencers, get the burrito. Melt Shop The Lowdown: Simply prepared and delicious melt sandwiches with creative fillings. They also do chicken tenders and homemade tater tots, plus a variety of milkshakes. Morgan's Must Try Pick: The Fried Chicken Melt with a side of Bacon Jalapeño Cheddar Tots and an Oreo Milkshake. You'll feel like you're #StraightOuttaRiverdale with this one! Mighty Quinn's BBQ The Lowdown: Westchester outpost of the popular NYC barbecue joint, Mighty Quinn's delivers a taste of the South to Savor, complete with all the fixin's. Morgan's Must Try Pick: Tender, juicy pulled pork with a side of Sweet Corn Fritters and a Sweet Tea. Nothing says "Southern" like sugar! The prices range from $-$$ at all of the Savor food locations. However, all of the food is prepared to order, and extremely high quality. Pro tip: If you spend $15+ at Savor, you can get your parking validated for free! Pretty easy, considering the prices of some of these spots. Make sure you take the time to sit and enjoy your meal in the gorgeous seating area. In warmer weather, check out the patio! It has a fireplace and an awesome view of the White Plains skyline! Happy eating, and remember that no matter what food stand you patronize, don't forget to Savor it! :)“
