“My pictures don’t do justice for how amazing their food truly is. Today was my first time and I am completely in love. The food was so fresh, made to order, and the portion you get for the price is unbelievable. This is perfect for anyone who is looking for a home style cooked meal during their lunch time. It has an amazing flavor and you feel full after. The customer service experience was amazing. Everyone is super friendly. Rachel’s interaction was above and beyond with every single customer. She is so warm and makes you feel so at home and part of her family. She takes time to explain the menu, what it contains, and she is so considerate for everyone’s spicy tolerance or food concerns. The place is immaculate as well and she changes her gloves as she makes the meals. Truly such an amazing person. She was super kind and offered dessert as well. I must say this is such a hidden gem and I would recommend it to everyone I know. Thank you so much for an amazing first time experience and can’t wait to be back!!!!“
“So happy to find this place is in my neighborhood! It became a part of my Sunday’s routine - stopping in Ukrainian Hata for a little taste of home. Cherry Bulka, cheese mlyntsi and holubtsi are just like my mom used to make - sooo delicious!“
“Wish I knew of this place earlier when more of the stalls were open. Visited today and only two were in operation sadly. IMO marketing could have been improved as I moved to the area (Hoboken) in 2020 and only noticed/heard of this place a few months ago while walking by as a new Jersey City resident. The name of it also sounds like just a restaurant instead of a food hall so it could probably benefit from a rebrand. If you look at the successful ones in other cities, e.g Chelsea Market in the city, Quincy Market in Boston, Union Market in DC, Reading Terminal Market in Philly, Ponce City and Krog street Markets in Atlanta they all kept it simple with the name. Those also are thriving either because they are in a high density tourist area or because they have dedicated parking available. This place would have done much better with dedicated available parking so people would have seen it as a destination. That said I get that perhaps, this was meant as more of a food court geared to catering to office workers like the Hugh in the city but there aren't nearly enough of these workers in JC for that. Hope it survives though and perhaps it will rebound when more of the development happening brings either new neighborhood residents or visitors (Top Golf rumored to be coming).“
“Fun food hall and mercantile for all. Great if you have multiple people looking for different types of food, looking for a fun higher-end casual date night, or dividing and conquering to go find yummy takeout to go enjoy with a group out on Pier 17.Plenty of tasty options, fresh ingredients, and NYC goodies to purchase.“
“If you plan to eat come early or late lines get crazy long and not a lot of space to move around. Decent amount of seating and they have public restrooms however the wait is atrocious for how big it is they really need more. The roof top views are where its at.“
“Sweet market with lots of small stalls. There is a fresh fruit and vegetable stand. There is a fish market with a large selection. There is also a meat market and a large cheese counter. You can have a great breakfast in the small coffee shops.Price performance top.“
“Love the art outside of Japan Village. There’s so much to do here. There’s a grocery store on the 1st floor as well as multiple food stalls to grab a bite. Within Japan Village, they also have Diaso, BookOff and other stores! They also have mini claw machines!“
“Dekalb Market Hall is a vibrant hub of culinary diversity and entertainment. The variety of restaurants offering foods from various cultures ensures that there's something for everyone's palate. Whether you're craving Italian, Mexican, Asian, or something else entirely, you'll find it here. The inclusion of a few bars adds to the lively atmosphere, providing opportunities to relax with a drink after exploring the food options. The addition of an escape room adds a fun and interactive element to the experience, perfect for groups looking for something different to do.One notable feature is the presence of Trader Joe's, making it convenient for visitors to grab groceries or unique food items to take home.To top it all off, the good music playing in the background adds to the overall ambiance, making Dekalb Market Hall a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and those seeking a fun outing with friends or family.“
“New experience to have southeast Asian cuisine in one place. Came with family to try for the first time. Tried so many different foods but mostly from padi dNYC. Ordered nasi ayam penyet (chicken), the lady forgot what I ordered and offered me nasi ikan (fish-tilapia, which I don't like) for her mistake. Was kind of disappointed yet I agreed but after a second thought my sis went to tell her that we wanted the chicken. The lady did replace the food. On this part, not a good experience. The satay was ok. Mee rebus was not what we expected, below average. The lontong was good. The nasi ayam gulai was okay, was expecting a different taste. The Singaporean char kway teow was better than it looked, however they mixed the flat rice noodle with regular noodles. was expecting only flat rice noodle. The pandan panna cotta from lady Wong was good. The coconut drink, the taste was below average. They do take cards but the prices for the food are overpriced. I can understand because it is in midtown. If you haven't tried the food here, you should try for at least once.“
“Had not expected something like this during my US travel.Paani Puri assortment was many notch better than what we get in Mumbai.Vibes is all Deshi and representation of PAN India taste.Chandrakala Gujia popular sweet dish from Patna ,Bihar was another pleasant surprise.Vegetarian options: It's not just vegetarian but great taste and perfect blend of spices served with warmth. Loved the place and loved the food.“
