Dive Bars near New Rochelle

C J Cullens Tavern Bar • $$
77 Pelham Rd, New Rochelle

“I've been to this bar a few times but recently came here last week and had a great experience. What I like about this bar is that it is very spacious, and has a nice pool table. I uploaded a picture of the tables which include booths which I like as well because if you have a big group this is a great space to accommodate. The last time I came here it was cash only and I happen to have cash on me last week when we came, so I'm not sure if it is 100% still cash only but I am almost positive there is an ATM. The only negative that I really have to say about this spot is that there is really not a lot of parking, there is a very small lot that can fit about three cars right to the side of the bar,, we were able to pull up right in front because we came on a Wednesday night but if you come here on a weekend you may need to park a block away. Overall I've always had a great time here, the bartenders have always been super nice and they carry angry orchard which is my favorite beer. I will definitely be back again soon.“

Hot Dog

“One of my favorite places on the planet. The bar tenders are amazing. The people and locals are amazing. The Guinness is amazing. I came there drinking bud light and one of the locals made fun of me and ordered me a Guinness and it’s been my favorite beverage ever since. I spent my whole summer in there. Got tight with a lot of people. Even got my own nickname, “Chicago”. I miss it everyday. I love to tell anyone who will listen about The Cellar Bar. Every time I make it back to New York, I have to stop in. This place is a huge part of my early 20’s. Shout out to one of the wonders of the world: The Cellar Bar.“

“This is the quintessential fun bar in a great location. I love live music and they have some great performances. Drinks are made just the way I like em because my favorite bartender, Shivani is amazing! Not only is she efficient but she is engaging and warm. Would go back just to chat with her. She makes all feel welcome. See a performance here for sure“

Mulligan's Fireside Pub Pubs • $
4272 Katonah Ave, Bronx

“It's in my opinion one of the most famous Irish bars in the Bronx. Almost every great Irish performer has been to this pub more than once. Paddy Reilly, Bagatelle and Niall & The Durty Nelly's to name a few...?It's a family run business and the staff are very welcoming. The burgers are also the best in the city, I kid you not.“

O'Hanlons Bar Bar • $
22-57 31st St, Queens

“It was a chill vibe. I went on a Saturday night and there were maybe 5 other people there, drinking and watching the hockey game. I paid 11 dollars for two cosmopolitans, not bad for the area. Plus they were STRONG and the bartender was quick and attentive. I would come again. I wish there were games there. I only saw the darts, maybe I missed it. It's pretty dark and dated like someone else mentioned. In any event, I would come again. Good spot to start the night out bar hopping.“

“Bean Monday's . That's all I really have to say about this place . When the greatest bartender in history joins the staff on the most elite bar in America, you must go , even on a Monday . Greg Bean is simply outstanding with his concoctions of alcoholic wonderments that will leave your taste buds begging for more . Don't miss Bean Monday's every Monday from 6:01pm Eastern Standard Time to close .“

Celtic Cove Bar • $$

“Great local "dive" bar lol. Good atmosphere, pool table, dart board, jukebox, TVs, bar area and tables. Nicole was a great bartender. Not over crowded, but enough people there that y has some life. We don't go out that often anymore, but it's good to have a local watering hole in the neighborhood when we do.“

“Not often you get a response within the hour from the owner. Was disappointed when we showed up to the bar and it was closed. Expressed disappointment and was answered right away from the owner with a very valid reason for the closure. Appreciate the response and we will definitely try again in the near future!“

“Nice place. The owner, Suits is a great guy. And their bouncer, Gary is a helluva guy. They cater mostly to the students that go to Fordham University, thus the propensity for underage drinking. The 48th Precinct doesn't bother too much. They know me as The Veteran.“
