I was really craving some rice and beans just like my grandma makes. I looked up nearby Puerto Rican restaurants and I'm so happy I picked Sofrito 787. I ordered rice, beans and a side salad. The proportions were a good size and a good price. I will definitely be back again! The atmosphere was very fun and decorated nicely.
Great PR food the chicken de cerdo was so flavorful and properly cooked, to platoon Madura was very good. The tostones were crisp and tasty. The empanadas were made exactly the way my abuela would have made them and they tased like she made them herself even though she had been gone for 15 years. The yellow rice was good but cold and we had to warm it up but it was 14 degrees outside a quick 60 seconds in the microwave brought back the heat and it's steamy goodness.
