The service here was very welcoming and friendly and even though I few questions about the menu she answered them no problem. Now the food since I ordered take out, the cookie was good, fresh baked and very soft despite sitting in a hot box, the tripleta sandwich definitely was best, I mean the trifecta of slow roasted pork, chicken and steak well seasoned and generous portioned is great, plus potato stix in a sandwich is not common but not unwelcome, the BBQ sauce I could not tell it was in the sandwich but the sofrito aioli was very good, since the sandwich was pretty dry without it. Beef and cheese empanada was good, nothing above average. Now the cream cheese and Nutella empanada am pretty mixed, since Nutella filling is great no doubt as a filling in any pastry, but the cream cheese I wish they transformed it, since it was more or less a slice of refrigerated block cream cut and put into the pocket, would be well worth it to make a sweeten cream cheese icing like you get on cinnamon buns and put that with the Nutella into the empanada. The sandwiches are definitely fire here, but empanadas I might think twice.

Simply put, the meals just did not taste good, and I know that's subjective, yet if you like under steak drenched in vinegar, cold beans, and old drinks about to go rancid, then this is the place for you. Never again!

First off, have to say food is really really good! We were in NY from NC for a short trip and this was the first place we hit after driving all day. We got there 1 hour before closing and seemed like the waitress was not as friendly as I would think to earn a possible extra $10-20 tip (no one there) an hour before close is plenty of time for a group of 3.My daughter wanted the Tripleta fries because they do not have them down the south and 10 mins after we ordered all our food, the waitress comes out and says they don’t have Fries so can’t make them. The whole reason for us going there. She told them no thank you (for anything else she would pick ours) then when all food came out they said “we had a little bit of fries” and made her Tripleta Fries with about 1/3 of regular portion and they made a comment how it is “much smaller” still definitely enough for one person but we were all going to share. We were so thankful and she was happy but when we got the bill- noticed they charged the full price! Disappointing! All in all amazing food and we were still happy! Then also saw the credit card charge (did not say anything) I would have liked to pay cash instead. If there was a sign, or posted menu I did not see that.

Food was a 6 out of 10. I enjoyed the appetizers more than the entree. Starting with the empanadas, I'm used to it being packed with meat and cheese. These had a lack of that, The alcapuras were nice and crispy and had flavor, but one seasoning used was unfamiliar, and they didn't need to add it. As per my sofito burger that had avocado, fried cheese, some sort of aioli really wasn't a marriage for me. It did not all go together. The ground meat was too thick and bland. I guess if you're starving, it'll taste good. Yuca fries were thick and hard. My husband's entree was better tasting but wasn't hot. The parcha juice was a 10/10.

I was really craving some rice and beans just like my grandma makes. I looked up nearby Puerto Rican restaurants and I'm so happy I picked Sofrito 787. I ordered rice, beans and a side salad. The proportions were a good size and a good price. I will definitely be back again! The atmosphere was very fun and decorated nicely.

Great PR food the chicken de cerdo was so flavorful and properly cooked, to platoon Madura was very good. The tostones were crisp and tasty. The empanadas were made exactly the way my abuela would have made them and they tased like she made them herself even though she had been gone for 15 years. The yellow rice was good but cold and we had to warm it up but it was 14 degrees outside a quick 60 seconds in the microwave brought back the heat and it's steamy goodness. I had the peril sandwich and that was just heaven in a bun. Glad they are back I will continue to get my PR food here

The rice was not for me it was hard i like a little pegao but the rice was all around hard. The Pernil tastes weird almost like the meat went bad. But the plantains were great, the steak was tasty and the empanadas was bussin.

Deliciousness! Good food, lovely server. Comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. Authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. My friend & I both ordered and enjoyed the peril lunch special. More than enough food , we even took leftovers. The other specials looked appetizing as well. Coffee was good. Also a coconut flan to go. Looking forward to a return visit.

Amazing puerto ?? rican food. Like the real deal. Full of mouth watering flavor. Portions are just right and so are the prices. This is one of those places that are really hard to come by. Lovely owner and staff, and peaceful ambience! Can't wait to go back!

When we arrived there were not many people. I was leery. But to my surprise this place is tops. The food was so delicious. The pork chops were crispy touch fried on the outside but super moist on the inside. Not tough at all. The pernil was so moist where at other places it’s dry. The portions are big. Had sides too. This place is super. We are definitely coming again. It is our go to place. Loved it ?
