Sometimes I’m taking a leisurely stroll around the village and I need a bagel cause I’m gonna sit down with it at the park across the street and take my time with the bagel and coffee may be a copy of the New York Times. Ask any New Yorker for the best bagel spot and it will always be the local joint closest to them. (Yes, H&H Bagels are good, but no way in heck am I going more than 5 blocks from my house when the bagel craving calls). Bagel on the Square is the best bagel spot in Greenwich Village. My go-to order: everything bagel, not toasted, jalapeño cream cheese with a slice of tomato and onion. (Perfection!) I had both on onion bagels that were the perfect temperature and consistency: just the right amount of bite for the chew.Tompkins Square is across Carmine St too for some munching with the pigeons on a nice little park bench!Service is quick; it's a modest establishment, yet all the best ones are!
