i rate chinese restaurants by their fried rice, and as the picture posted shows its quite decent. coming from asia and being chinese, i would recommend this place for decent takeaway chinese food.

Get ready to be disappointed- or wowed - depending on what you order. I ordered jumbo shrimp with walnuts. It was a perfect blend of quality (huge) and quality (large succulent shrimp lightly coated and cooked to non-rubbery perfection topped with not-overly-sweet walnuts and surrounded by an army of broccoli. Actually it could serve an army of was so huge a portion.) My friend got ribs in black bean sauce. Good taste but the ribs were cut into inch long pieces with a bit of bone in each piece so it was cumbersome to eat, She sure liked my shrimp dish though! Big Wong used to be known for their wonton soup and egg rolls. They no longer make egg rolls. Just spring rolls. I wonder why. Soup still good but the worst part was that the ribs I ordered to go were little pieces on the bone like they used for my friend's dish. Yuck! Was I supposed to specify "whole ribs on the bone" perhaps? I have no idea. But next time I will get them elsewhere. What I won't get elsewhere is that amazing Jumbo Shrimp with Walnuts dish. Oh and it comes topped with the traditional honey-mayo sauce that is so good. I have tried this dish since, at several spots, and nobody does it like Big Wong.

Dispite my initial excitement when spotting the sign at the old Tipsy Shanghai spot that opened less than a year ago. Tried take out several times and each is meh compared to the OG mott street location. The meats are either cold or reheated. Pork skin no longer crispy, 4 out of 5 soup dumpling broke. Portions are small, prices are 25-50% higher. Alas it's too good to be true, wonder how long will last.Rarely see ppl dining, takeouts mostly.

I wanted lo mein and wonton. They had lo mein and wonton with bok chow in a tasty broth. It felt healthy.

As a Cantonese-American - so great to get authentic Canto food in Hells Kitchen. Highly recommend getting the combo meats (roast pork, roast pig, duck, chicken)

If there was a option to give a negative star for this abysmal place they call a restaurant, I would. I have no clue how this restaurant even got 4.7 stars in their uber eats app, but I am convinced the ratings were set artificially because it no where near reflects in their actual food. They completely missed one part of the order of our lo mein, the bbq spare ribs over rice never did come in rice, but instead inedible noodles that was bland with no flavor whatsoever. In addition to this, they definitely just took their left over meat and just briefly heated it up as it was not fresh whatsoever. BIG WONG? More like BIG WRONG. AVOID THIS "RESTAURANT" AT ALL COSTS.

Was a biggg fan of this place in Chinatown..don't know it's the same owner but the one in HK is a ripodd..over priced (~double the price vs. the one in china town with much less food). It's kinda sad to ruin a well known brand...NOT Recommended to order from here guys !

Ordered the noodle, soup tastes very bland, almost like water. The beef is full of tendons and very hard to chew. Nothing is flavored for the beef noodle, not the beef, nor the noodle and certainly not the soup.

Great Chinatown-style restaurant in Hell's Kitchen, just a few blocks from the Theater District. If you're looking for good, inexpensive, plentiful Cantonese cuisine, this is the place for you. Try the roast pig and roast duck over rice, and roast duck with wantons noodle soup.

Food is so so so bad. Ordered wonton noodle soup and everything was overcooked to the point where the noodles and wonton skin was slimy. Literally had no taste. Terrible. Would give 0 stars if possible.

This was a surprise find! Our group of 9 was in the theater district and were looking for a place without a long line/seating. Big Wong is just two blocks from the Barrymore Theater and a solid place for a meal. My husband and I split two soup dumplings - the pork and the crabmeat/pork. This was pretty good! Decent portions with delicate dumpling skin and lots of warm broth inside. My only wish was that they would serve this with a black vinegar/chili sauce, which I have become used to at other restaurants. I also ordered shrimp dumplings, but ended up getting the wrong order. Nonetheless, what I got was good. My husband also tried the congee and he was satisfied with it.

Great food, midtown prices. The Congee was enjoyable and has a heaping of meat. Service was fantastic, workers are friendly.
