We went last Sunday night for a family dinner. We ordered White bean Hummus, Hamachi and Tuna appetizers(tiny portions), Gruyère fritters as starters. Can’t remember what else. Everything was delicious. We ordered pork Katsu and the citrus marinated chicken, Gnocchi w Duck Ragu for dinner which were also well prepared and accompaniments were flavorful. Part of our dinner was the charred octopus appetizer. This dish was quite overcooked and chewy. The sauce on the side was the only way we got through the plate. In retrospect we should have sent the item back as it was an expensive selection but we did not want to be rude. This was also unexpected as our other choices were tasty so we did not know how to deal with this miss. All in all this dish was a disappointment. Staff was friendly, vibe was nice and the restaurant was quite full on a Sunday evening. We noticed a gentleman watching over the dining room and I am guessing that was to make sure patrons were either well taken care of or not over staying.

5 stars all around, including the playlist and unusually amazing mocktail. I entertained my best friend from out of town on a friend’s recommendation. We seated quickly. The sever was helpful. All the food was unique and delightful. Overstory is an elevator ride away. Lots of plusses :) I would love to go back!

I can't stop thinking about the poor Quail that died to make my husband's gross entrée! I know they don't live very long anyway, but how sad!I don't care to eat small, adorable birds, raw sea bass, or things made with pig juice, so I can appreciate that the menu just wasn't totally for me or my dinner companions. But in my experience, if things are cooked well enough, it almost doesn't matter what your preferences are. We did appreciate the good service (a tinge over the top though, if I'm being honest), but it didn't compensate for how overpriced and disappointing the food was. We enjoyed the bread and gruyere fritters. The hummus was good, but served with virtually nothing and it certainly wasn't good enough to eat spoonfuls of by itself.Beautiful place in a stunning old building, but the music was so bad that it made us uncomfortable. At least we had a good laugh about it, but now I'm truly worried I'll continue to have nightmares about that poor little bird and the disappointing dish he was murdered for.

The most underwhelming 2 Michelin star restaurant. Bad service, pushy and rude waiter. Below average food. We ordered almost everything on the menu and the only thing that stood out was tuna. Everything else was meh. I do recommend the melon cocktail, otherwise it was a very disappointing experience. Surprised they got two stars.

Ultimately, not a very enjoyable experience. The food was interesting to sample. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. However, the music was so loud, and the din of diners trying to be heard over the music, that it was very difficult to enjoy. Twenty minutes into our meal, I realized I had to stop trying to shout and hear the other guests at my table. I pretended I was alone and tried just to enjoy the food. With mixed results.

Really great experience - try to get a table near the kitchen.I see a lot of raving about the Gruyère fritters, but these were probably the most disappointing item we had. They’re basically mini churros with a bit hot oily cheese. I’d skip them and try some of the other starters instead. Also, the sauce with the pork katsu wasn’t great - tasted too much like a basic mayonnaise and didn’t add much. But without it, the katsu was a bit underwhelming. The sprouts were delicious. If it’s available, get the sweet potato.

Where do I even begin? We came here on Valentine's day. The restaurant was super crowded, and service was terribly slow. The cocktails were way too sweet and they skimped out on liquor. I usually am content to drink one cocktail; here I ordered 3 and barely felt a buzz. The food was a flop. One star out of five compared to reputable places like Henry's End, where they actually know how to prepare a chicken thigh without drying it out so much that you need to wash it down with the fruit punch they desperately try to pass off as cocktails at Crown Shy.We ended up not finishing all of our food, and I asked for a to go box. They told us to pick it up at the front. I waited for over 20 minutes, after which they informed us that they lost our food. $600 spent on dinner; the least they could do was to get the to-go box right, but they couldn't even manage that.We were approached by the manager - Daisy Wither. She offered us her apologies, said to email her, and that they'd take care of us. To no one's surprise, she completely ghosted me when I tried to get in touch. Honestly, I'm not even mad. I'd pay $600 to NOT to eat their mediocre chicken again.

A great food experience. Everything had nuanced flavors and well thought out dishes. Music choice was interesting (early 2000s hip hop) but didn't mind that. The ambiance was very cool. My only comment is that our waitress was great, but her demeanor noticeably changed after we requested the resturant week menu. Otherwise service was outstanding! Would go back to try out their cocktails (they looked very interesting)

We went to CrownShy’s brunch and were extremely disappointed. I ordered their yogurt and asked the waiter if the granola had any tree nuts. He said he would check with the chef and if it does then they will just add more berries on top. Despite mentioning my allergy multiple times, they brought out the yogurt with almond granola on top. This restaurant has an open kitchen and was almost completely empty when we were there so we could see and hear what was happening in the kitchen. When the waiter took back the yogurt, we heard the chef claim that almonds aren't a tree nut (??). They brought out the yogurt, this time with the granola on the side, and we didn't even get an apology. For a $19 bowl of yogurt from a Michelin star restaurant, I expected much better service and quality of food.

We went for brunch. It was very good!Crown Shy is a pretty nice restaurant, proudly showcasing its Michelin Star near the entrance. At the start of our meal I asked about the ingredients in their yogurt item (we wanted to order it for our son), and I was told it “probably had a large amount of sugar”, but they weren’t sure. When I inquired about plain yogurt, I was quickly notified that they only serve items listed on the menu. I was a bit concerned about the space-time paradox that may have been created from a restaurant both not knowing what’s on its menu while simultaneously only serving items from said menu, but nonetheless I pressed on.The food was very good! The Babka was fluffy with a nice texture, the French Toast perfectly prepared, the omelette creamy and delicious, and the steak and eggs… also very good. The cream and chimichurri combination on the steak was especially memorable, surpassing a similar sauce concept from Skipper’s Canteen at Walt Disney World. Is that the standard I compare things to? Yes.When the bill came, I was amazed that the fine-dine quality menu was priced just a hair above the average brunch place in the area, despite being head and shoulders better in quality and while employing a ballpark estimate of 10 million wait staff (all of whom are very nice). We ordered 4 items (3 meals and the Babka) and our bill came in at under $100. Amazing! We would definitely come back to Crown Shy and highly recommend it.
