Nothing Peruvian about the ceviche, it was the worst ceviche I’ve ever had. The marinade only had lemon, it lacked the rocoto and ají amarillo flavors that normal leche de tigre has. The ceviche also came without camote or canchita. They should call this fish and lemon juice not ceviche, and the portion was super tiny. They should remove the peru from their food description as there’s nothing Peruvian here. Really disappointed. 0 stars!!

I believe Flor de Mayo is a unique NYC chain mainstay. I love that they have multiple locations but I usually go to the same one lol. Last time I was here it was right before I was pregnant with my daughter. The staff is always on point and it’s always packed. Locals love the drinks and Chinese-Peruvian fusion. This place is my version of an upper echelon Chinese Food Restaurant!! There use to be something similar on Fordham Rd. MOVING ON!!I ventured out this time and ordered food I normally wouldn’t. I got the cilantro rice and wasn’t really satisfied. I thought the rice was a little mushy and not the flavor profile I was looking for. The chickpea guisado could’ve been better. It really just looked like they threw a slurry in a pan with tomato sauce and chickpeas. I will not be ordering either of those again. I will stick to the fried rice which is always exceptional! My grandmother accompanied us on this trip and enjoyed herself so I appreciated that. We just learned she has GERD so having something she enjoyed made our day. With love.

FOOD FELL ALL THE WAY OFF !! PRICES WENT UP TO BUT QUALITY DOES NOT MATCH . 22 BUCKS FOR THE DRIEST PORKCHOP IVE EVER ATE . LITERALLY HAVE TO SPEND MORE MONEY TO EAT . GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. ONLY GOOD FOR DRINKS NOW ..NO BUENOS..SO DISSAPOINTED!!

Chinese-Peruvian food is an excellent crossover. Loved the mixed rice with plantains. Chicken was well-cooked and charred while juicy in the inside. Big portions and great value for money. Staff are highly attentive too. This place has great neighborhood and family vibes.

Just don’t order the chicharones de pollo aka chicken tenders, aka crackling chicken. First order, chicken overcooked and tasted like overused oil. Sent it back, 2nd order not as cooked but not appetizing at all and tasted like overused oil. To be fair, my wife likes her dish. You should be ok unless you order the pollo.

Drinks were really good had the nutcracker. Food was ok. I had Ropa vieja (Cuban shredded steak w/ sauce & onions dish) ,arroz morro (meaning black rice, another Cuban dish that consists of black beans & rice cooked together), & plantano maduros(fried sweet plantains). It was ok had better being part Cuban. Waiter was attentive. The restaurant was pretty small but it did fit 19 ppl. I was w/. It was just tight.
