We went here for Valentine's Day this year. I was up in the air about either going to Keenan's or Gallaghers for dinner. I chose Gallaghers because I saw that they had prime rib, which is my favorite. We had 7pm reservations and the restaurant was packed! We were seated quickly at a corner booth. The waiter we had was prompt and did an excellent job explaining the menu and the specials. Our food came out quickly. I ordered the prime rib and I must say it was hands down the best prime rib I ever had. It was cooked perfectly and it just melted in your mouth. It didn't need a sauce at all. When we left we were stuffed and the price of our bill was fairly reasonable. I would go here every time I visit NYC in the future.**The reason why I gave it 4 stars for the atmosphere was because seating was a little too crowded for my liking. It was also very loud and hard to hear each other talk.

I went here for my late lunch, so I chose the lunch course menu.It was so good! The steak was very soft and not chewy? I thought the steak was the best, but when I ate the cheesecake I was shocked…The cheesecake was the best in my life!!If you go here at lunch time, the price is also very good! I recommend this restaurant!My favorite restaurant in NYC!

We went to Gallaghers Steakhouse on Sunday before our flight home, what can I say, it finished off a perfect weekend. We were sat in a wonderful booth overlooking the beautiful restaurant . The restaurant itself reminded me of The Ivy. Staff were attentive and helpful. We chose the 3 course menu deal for $35 it was amazing value. All the food was perfect. A fantastic end to a perfect trip.

1st time at Gallaghers, had the three course lunch. Great food, the filet mignon was divine, melted in the mouth. Each course was wonderful and the service from Phil and Jose was great. Really pleasant and friendly guys. Would recommend Gallaghers strongly.

First let me say I'm from the deep south in case that gives this review some perspective. The steak was super tender and juicy. The natural taste of the steak was great. Thats all you're going to get though. There was no seasoning. My husband ordered the chopped steak. It was the first time we've had chopped steak made with actual steak instead of ground beef. No seasoning. The cheese layered on top the baked potato wasn't warm enough to mix into the baked potato. My husband ordered mashed potatoes for his side. Again, absolutely no seasoning. You could tell the food was fresh but the flavor just wasn't there. The service was top tier. For the price of the food, I expected some depth of flavor.

Without a shadow of a doubt the best steak I have ever had, and potentially the best steak in New York.This place is creeping on 100 years of operation and has such high reviews for a reason. If you can, go here

1st time in NYC, went for lunch at Gallaghers based on random Google search. Restaurant has a nice crowd, not too loud. No queueing at lunch time. Order medium fillet mignon, To our surprise the steak is perfectly done to our liking, service is decent. Will definitely be back next time.
