Best Chinese food. Service is decent. But be prepared for the waiters. Don't feel offended if the waiters doesn't smile. That's just the way they're is part of their charm. The place is a bit loud when full of guests, but it's bearable.

Flounder Fishball , Lobster & Yangchow fried rice are VERY good & Cantonese authentic!! Two Thumbs Up!

Quick, plentiful, and excellent food that has traditional Cantonese dishes. The pan-fried flounder and the snails in black bean sauce are notable. I also enjoy the Hop Kee Chicken and the staples like Lo Mein of all types are worth getting. Its atmosphere is diner like and is no frills.

Their food used to be much better. Their service always has been rude. They only accept cash.

Old school family restaurant serving Cantonese style food since the late 60's. Had the opportunity to visit NYC during the lunar new year. HK did not disappoint. It was great the see the place packed with regulars. I stayed with my normal favorites..Peking style pork chops, spicy beef chow fun, salt and pepper chicken wing, crabs, Wife loved the salt and pepper prawns! Wash it all down with a couple of Tsing Tao beers. So good!! Will keep coming back when visiting!!

A cash only establishment. You sit down to the feeling that someone important has occupied your seat in the past..... The spicy beef chow fun was unlike any I've had. Not greasy and an interesting twist with the grilled jalapenos. Was recommended a fried chicken dish that was delicious. It was $40 for two full smiles.

NOT REALLY CONVINCING... ... I actually wanted to go to "Wo Hop". However, it was already full when I arrived and there was already a long queue outside. I didn't want to queue there too. I was looking for an alternative and was hungry. So I went next door to "Hop Kee", also down the stairs into the basement. Strikingly, it was just as full as next door, just as empty. The place was, let's say, tidier, but all the more lifeless and loveless. Very sober. Unfortunately, this was also reflected in the prices and the selection of dishes. So if you wanted to differentiate the dishes from the restaurant next door, then you succeeded. I hardly found anything similar. The portion was more than big, actually enough for two people. It was fine. However, the price was no longer really appropriate, it felt too high. There was no real feeling of well-being either. Not a restaurant I would go to again.

If you know, you know.Cash only, reasonable prices, bring your friends and family - great thing is they can take reservations for large groups, give them a call ahead of time.Crab - uh, yes. Fried flounder - heck yes (one of my favs here) Obvi the fried pork chops - that will bring joy to the pickiest eaters. We got the snails too, this is a great beer snack. Don’t forget your veggies! And don’t just order “safe”!Loved my fortune so I’m posting for y’all.

Before I begin with my review.... HUGE HEADS UP.. Apparently they add a gratuity to the bill regardless of your party size without noting it or telling you. Ultimately, it's my own fault for not paying attention. Hence the reason why it gets 3 stars versus 4 or possibly 5. Dishonesty needs to be called out. With that said, we landed here based on a recommendation. Parking is rough. There's a parking garage around the corner but luckily after circling four times, we found a spot very close to the restaurant. It is located in the basement area, which I really loved the vibe of the place. Inside is no frills, straight to business restaurant. Service was ok. They weren't exactly attentive but not exactly neglectful. It was pretty much a full house with customers in there. They start out with a pot of tea and fried won ton strips with house duck sauce and hot mustard. My son got a cup of won ton soup and we got ribs, steamed dumplings and wings to share. Everything was excellent. Ribs were a little underwhelming but still better than any local Chinese restaurant in my area. For dinner, I got the Long Island Duck, which was very good. It was in a sweet sauce which gave it a little kick. My son got the half crispy chicken. Size was huge and I tried a piece and it was nice and crispy on the outside and the inside was juicy despite looking dry. I was very surprised. My wife got the sweet and pungent chicken, which was also a massive plate and very tasty. Our other son got the chicken and broccoli and he said it was very good. The table shared an order of vegetable fried rice. All in all, a very good meal and I loved the experience. Again, as I'm reading how they hit you with a tip in advance kind of aggravates me because I usually catch things like this. The bill was more than I anticipated but wasn't really doing the math in my head for some reason. Lesson learned and hopefully my mistake helps others.

Stopped by late at night craving some good chinese food. this place did not disappoint. We were seated immediately and the portions are definitely meant for family style but even then were HUGE so had plenty of leftovers even with just two dishes ordered between two people. everything was delicious and would especially recommend the beef with chili peppers. perfect level of spice i couldn't stop eating it! note this place is cash only so come prepared ! there's a bank nearby which was convenient because we did not know and my friend needed to go there to get some cash mid way through our meal
