Best sushi restaurant in NYC! Chef Jun and his wife Shoko were very friendly and we got to experience authentic Japanese style service. Great quality seafood and rice imported from Japan with sake parings. Really enjoyed the experience there. 100% recommend!

The restaurant (if you can even call it that) is filled with boxes, clutter and trash; you can’t even walk in without immediately smelling rancid pee. I made a reservation for 2 on a Saturday night at 7:30PM and it was completely empty with trash piled up on every table except one. I’m not sure if they’re under renovations but there’s no way the food is sanitary or safe at all. It’s scary to even walk by the restaurant front. Would not recommend even stepping into it.

I came to pick up food tonight and there were rats all inside the restaurant and out. That the server walked out to hand me my food. I threw that food away quickly. Never will I eat here again

Very sweet little place run by husband and wife. Small sushi bar and a couple of tables. Front of restaurant full of stuff they use in summer sidewalk weather which is a little strange.Food very good. Fish very fresh. Service very attentive. A little oddball but worth visiting.

I have now tried ordering twice from this expensive restaurant. The first time, the Lyxor called me 30 minutes later to say they had no Toro (which was why I chose them in the first place)Now, today, I tried again. Online ordering said it would be an hour but I did it anyway. An hour later a guy from door dash calls to say the restaurant is closed. I call and no one answers. Now I am starving and have to start over. I will never order from this place again. Shame because the people who review it favorably say very nice things about the sushi.

This is so delicious every time! It’s so fresh, and the cooked foods are equally delicious. It may be somewhat unassuming upon entrance, but you are made to feel so welcome it’s worth the trip out in the rain.

Inase is a special place. There are many sushi restaurants on the upper east side, but with all due respect, they tend to be indistinguishable from one another, offering the same product and similar ambience. Inase is different. It is run by a couple and offers an intimate, authentic experience. The sushi is unlike anything I've tried; much more delicate and fresh than what is normally available. There are many unique items, like Japanese Yam and Fried Oyser, that I havn't seen elsewhere. And the price is comparable to other spots that are not (exlusively) Omakase. Highly recommended!

The sushi at Inase is absolutely delicious - we had some salmon belly nigiri, chutoro nigiri, and amber jack nigiri which were all phenomenal. The fish is such great quality and have a melt-in-your-mouth feel. They also use some special ingredients that make the sushi more unique, but the flavors all blend together so well. We also had some of the best soft shell crab - lightly crispy but still juicy and tender. Finally, the owners are so friendly and warm - we were the only ones dining at the sushi bar and had such a great time talking with them. It was really the highlight of our day in NYC.

There is no better quality sushi available in New York City. On top of that, Jun and Shoko’s warm and cheerful hospitality will make you feel as if you’re amongst long time friends. I recommend the omakase sets to sample Jun’s best pieces. The ikura (served atop scallop instead of rice) and aka uni are standouts of the nigiri. Octopus tempura is special as well. The decor is homey, as they use much of the interior space for storage of kitchen supplies.

I ordered delivery. The fish was slimy and old. This is not only frustrating, but downright dangerous.
