We tried the tasting menu at J Spec, and throughly enjoyed our experience. The staff and our host was very kind and professional. They also treated us to some extras, and accommodated our dietary restrictions with replacements and substitutions. I would recommend J Spec, and love to visit again.
I went to this spot as recommended per restaurant week, when they served three courses for 60 bucks, two of which had wagyu. Wagyu is a bit of a mystical thing people hear about in food. It's basically beef that has been raised specially to contain more intramuscular fat, thus making it richer and more tender.This restaurant specializes in providing wagyu, though I'm not sure from where in Japan. I liked this place. All the dishes were good but for some reason, it was just missing the "wow" factor, hence only 4 and not 5 stars. I did like that they sent us a special dessert and candle with a birthday sign for my husband's birthday. I was most disappointed with the sake - didn't like any of the 3 in the samples tasting.
