Loud, but fun place for brunch! Food is delicious, but service can be a bit slow. But thays ok because it gives you a chance to enjoy the "clean" space, your dining companions, and not feel rushed. So while this *spinds* like a negative, it really isn't! The food is great for vegetarians, GF diet needs, and all!
Jack's Wife Freda has a few locations around New York. I'm not sure about the low rating because we had an awesome experience. We visited the Union Square location. The restaurant is airy, full of white tile, and has a very cool wooden skylight that floods the place with light. This is an all-day cafe type of setup, with breakfast/brunch/bistro. It's a 30 second walk to get here. good food decent service side "salad" aka, just a bunch of arugula...nothing else. I will be a returning customer but please fix your "salad".
