Extensively thought out menu, every bite felt like a perfect harmony of complex but well balanced flavours. The pairings are absolutely worth it and elevate every dish, we would highly recommend.Servers were extremely attentive. We ate in about 1h30 because we had a show (a bit faster than the recommended 2 hour window), however we didn’t feel rushed and everything was perfectly timed.Excellent ambiance, we loved being able to see the chefs work in front of us. Everything looked like a perfectly choreographed dance.Would highly recommend, a well deserved star indeed !

Went a while back (2023) so the menu has probably changed since then but my experience when I went was ok. Nothing tasted bad but nothing stood out or felt worth it. For the price point I was pretty upset that there were no extraordinary dishes.Service was also very kind but for some reason there was a long delay between courses as we reached the end, specifically the last course before dessert I recall feeling disgruntled with how long we sat there with no food. Staff apologized for the delay but regardless, for the price, I expected more. Will unfortunately not be coming back.

We didnt know this place had 1 Michelin star. Service was excellent. Food was great, but not the best I have tasted. But they invented some new taste and korean handrolls. The duck was very tender and probably the best dish. But overall, we dont think it was worth the price. They only serve the tasting menu which cost $145/pp. Adding soju wine, 2x cocktails, tips etc cost us total $500.

I can't say anything about the food. The people who made it and everything that came out of it were a work of art. I was thankful that I was able to have a fun and happy time.

Definitely the best food I've had in NYC on my trip this time around, albeit also the most expensive. Initially my boyfriend and I were interested in Mari because we named our cat Mari, but it worked out because Mari (the restaurant) was so delicious! The menu is seasonal (?) but this time, some dishes we loved were the dish with morel mushrooms stuffed with a pine nut paste and the duck noodles. Also, the mochi doughnut. So yummy

for the quality of food at this price point, you can get in NYC a premium 15 piece omakase, which I would prefer. $850 for a group of 4 was an incredibly overpriced dinner. Would highly suggest finding a better value fine dining meal elsewhere!

Amazing experience at Mari. Food was fantastic, especially the spicy tuna hand roll. Service was attentive, and the ambience was wonderful. We've been back twice now and will keep coming back!

Unfortunately, my experience at this Michelin-starred restaurant left much to be desired. The interior design was lacking taste, with a tacky selection of tableware that didn't complement the dining experience. Additionally, hearing Koop songs playing felt incredibly out of place and detracted from the ambiance. Overall, a disappointing visit.

Tonight I ate at Mari in NYC. It was exQUISITE.Now, everybody with a mouth knows that Asian cuisine in general is typically based on a careful balance of complimentary yet competing flavor components. Salt. Sweet. Sour. Umami. Astringence. Fermentation. All sorts of things that Western culture never thought to combine until the world started to get smaller and smaller. And that combination of flavors makes a lovely "photograph" in your mouth. What isn't quite as widely discussed is that in addition to that static dimension of flavor combinations is the dance of flavors over time. The added dimension. Some Asian food doesn't give you a photograph, it plays you a movie. From the moment you put a bite into your mouth, a whole show begins to unfold and if you're anything like me you close your eyes and ride the wave ignoring all outside distractions. That isn't unique to Asian cuisine, but I would argue it is Asian cuisine that takes it to the highest level.Dinner tonight was like that.I love my friends. I love sharing a meal with them. But I was glad I was alone tonight. I didn't want to talk about it. I didn't want to hear anyone else talk about it. I didn't want to distract from the experience for even a moment. I just wanted to be in the moment. I didn't take pictures. I didn't take notes. I don't remember squat from what they told me as the tasting menu progressed. I just remember each bite.So if you're in NYC and you're in the mood to blow a stash of cash on a night to be remembered, you heard it here first: Mari NYCMy parting comment to the chef that prepared my food was "You guys are gonna OWN this city." And they will.Sit at the counter. Trust me.

Most of the food is excellent but to spend $145+ per person for an omakase and still leave hungry is silly. And for that amount of money, I would expect more from the interior decor. It felt like it was designed with wayfair items and has harsh led track lighting that lights up every pore on your face.

Beautiful fine dining! ? Highly recommend it if you are looking for something special dinner in Hell's Kitchen. The handrolls are presented in a sophisticated way with Wow flavors! Also, they have amazing cocktails; We loved Pear Martini and Sunrise at Mari. We truly enjoyed this Michelin-star restaurant. It might not be an everyday meal, but it is definitely worth it to spend on this amazing experience with your family, friends or lover.

Mari continues to be my favorite restaurant in NYC. Their relatively new Michelin star is incredibly well-deserved. Service is as phenomenal as the food and drinks. I can't think of a single bad thing to say about the place over the ~5 times I've dined there. I'll continue to tell everyone about this place, recommending it as my NYC top pick.
