We didnt know this place had 1 Michelin star. Service was excellent. Food was great, but not the best I have tasted. But they invented some new taste and korean handrolls. The duck was very tender and probably the best dish. But overall, we dont think it was worth the price. They only serve the tasting menu which cost $145/pp. Adding soju wine, 2x cocktails, tips etc cost us total $500.
Definitely the best food I've had in NYC on my trip this time around, albeit also the most expensive. Initially my boyfriend and I were interested in Mari because we named our cat Mari, but it worked out because Mari (the restaurant) was so delicious!The menu is seasonal (?) but this time, some dishes we loved were the dish with morel mushrooms stuffed with a pine nut paste and the duck noodles. Also, the mochi doughnut. So yummy
