We loved the food, the ambience, the menu, the wine and found the staff to be professional, helpful and pleasant. It was for us a memorable occasion.

Best Turkey burger I ever had!!!! Quality turkey burger grilled just right with a deliciously soft bun. I also enjoy the mussels, it has a unique sauce with a little kick. I will continue to go back.

This is a walk-up/ take-out only shack on the corner of 145th and 8th Ave(Fredrich Douglass). Before I moved to this neighborhood, I has wondering around via Google street view, and O'fishole dominated this corner. Try it, you can even read the menu right there on your computer. It was my first must visit upon moving here. That was late last fall. I had the cheeseburger delux, and I must say they bring back that line in Pulp Fiction, "This IS a tasty burger." The fries are OK. They seam like a slightly breaded fry kinda like Rally's or Arby's. Today, five months later, I went back for the fish and chips. Same slightly crispy fries and three lightly breaded whiteing fillets. They were OK. I guess any time you can get fish in your body, the O'heart may give you a few more ticks. It seamed healthy, even for fried fish, because there wasn't the slightest hint of oil taste, just the wonderful seasoning in the breading. I had to eat them with the hot sauce due to my personal ban on high fructose corn syrup which is in the tarter sauce and the ketsup. And my how the Grape Crush in the window of O'fishole was staring me down like a HFCS bullet straight to the gut. Looked good, but can't do it :( Anyhow, this was a good trip back(across the street) to the O'fishole. Would have been there many more times, but they were closed most of the Winter. This place is a great value. Nothing to impress guests with, but not bad at all. It's food, good, cheap food.

What I love about this place its the late night service. This tiny spot is right on the street and it serves fresh made to order whiting sandwiches. The prices are reasonable and taste will satisfy. Call ahead to place your order cause it can be busy during the day.

It's not fast food. It's kind of slow in that they fry the fish only after you order it. You do have to wait a few minutes, but it is absolutely worthwhile. The batter is light spiced corn meal, the fish is NOT frozen but is fresh just as the lady said, and even without any sauces it was out of this world good. The fried fish I believe is whiting is soft fried, not hard crunchy fried, and delicate and fragrant. High quality is what it is. This was every bit as good as a summer sea side fish shack in Cape Cod (sorry for my limited frame of reference as I have not traveled extensively in the South). Frankly I am shocked that it is doing business in New York. Open until 4 am on Friday and Saturday nights, too. 212-234-2601. The lemonade is homemade too. My one wish is that they would add unsweetened iced tea to the menu. I saw they serve grits, too - I MUST go back for that.

Food: Nothing beats a $3 burger that is fresh and juicy. Burger deluxe came with fries (crunchy, not greasy). Sweet potato fries was also good. Service: A bit slow, but the lady at the counter was friendly. Will be back to try the seafood items on the menu (fish and chips).

The burger and fries are pretty solid. Haven't tried the fish. They are closed on Sundays.
