Went to watch my friend Chelsea Glaze perform! The staff was very friendly and the bartender was so sweet and kept her cool when it was only her working and getting swamped with orders. If you’re a musician looking for a place to play, I recommend this place. The drinks can be a bit pricy so if you’re going out one night or you’re planning to see a show, I recommend pre gaming and then just getting a drink or two when you get there. All in all, we had a lot of fun and it was a great show!

Can't say enough good things about this bar. It's close to the subway, and several paid parking options. The atmosphere is unadulterated tiki, with tacky paintings of nude women, weird art and retro vibes. The simple but effective sound system in the quaint back room for live music did the job well. Drinks were very fairly priced for a NYC watering hole. We got there earlier in the afternoon before the club got busy and the bartenders were as friendly as they were fetching. As the bar filled up later, they kept up the same prompt service while remaining courteous. We ordered the chicken skewers and dumplings to help take the edge off the strong drinks and were surprised at how delicious the food was. The icing on the cake being the Subway to Skaville show that happens on the first Friday of every month. DJ Ryan Midnight hosts local and touring ska bands for an evening of fun, raucous, upbeat music. Otto's will be a NYC staple for us on every visit.

The only tiki bar in New York that let's you keep the mug for only $7! The drinks are about $23 with the mug. They aren't the most authentic tiki drinks but after 2 you won't remember how to spell tiki trust me! This place has a very cool vibe with strong drinks. They are there to make you have fun not to fleece you for a few dollars.

pros:- really good tiki drinks- good music (if you’re into rock like i am)cons:- rude bartender (like actually rude, not “old irish barman that has done this for 40 years” rude)- for quite a few drinks the mugs (including the souvenir one) are not available so you have to drink out of a normal pint glass. not ideal for the tiki experience.

I like the vibes. It's not pretentious. I like the decor. I stopped in during a weekday night and it was chill. Bartender was nice. The drinks are fun and I love the cups. I like how you can keep the cups if you choose to forfeit your deposit. This isn't a typical bougie tiki bar, more like a punk rock tiki bar. There's surely nothing else like it in New York and maybe in the country. Worth a visit. They also have live music certain nights but I left before it started that night.

Great cozy tiki bar that feels like a funky upscale dive bar. Not tacky and no frills but definitely has character. You can purchase the cups too. Hidden gem in East Village

I didn’t get any food, but the beers are nice, the atmosphere interesting and I like the back room where I went to see bands playing.
