Poppi is a neighborhood gem! The 3.8 rating is undeserved from the experience my friend and I had here! This is an absolutely delightful spot to grab a coffee, hot chocolate, sandwich, pastry and apparently they serve wine too! We needed a place to help tide us over before an event at the Explorers Club just around the corner and the manager David and barista Andy took care of us like family! A tiny sweet cafe with great coffee, nice break from the massive/chain coffee shops nearby. All the people complaining about the staff not being nice enough must be tourists or just entitled locals. The staff here do a great job with a minimal amount of space and huge demand. Neither they nor any service worker in any establishment owes you a smile or a conversation during a rush. Yes it's expensive but that's the neighborhood.

This place makes the best americano in the area. I find the staff to be kind and welcoming and the service is always quick. After Joe Coffee closed on Lexington Ave I had to find a new spot and, for me, this is it.
