I recommend this new-ish katsu place in Hell's Kitchen. The pork retains a pink-ish hue from being slow-cooked for many (12?) hours. The batter is also incredibly light, more reminiscent of a Japanese katsu than one in America - just very finely executed! It wasn't particularly crowded when I went; I hope it stays in business! 1. Tonkatsu Bento (Fatback) 8 oz., 180 gm. Corn fed pork Fatback served with shredded cabbage, tomato, cucumber, White rice and pickles $34 2. Fried-Dip Eggplant (With a seaweed/bonito dashi-broth and garnished with ginger) $7 3. Karaage (Deep-fried Japanese fried chicken) $15 4. Addictive Spicy Cucumber (Cucumber with spicy chili beans and sesame-oil sauce, garnished with shredded red pepper) $7

For katsu fans, this place is a must visit. Their beef katsu was the specialty and def worth trying. For non-katsu fans - like me - it was still something interesting to try. It was tender and juicy. Oh and don't forget getting the draft beer there. The set-up indoor was very japanese style, smaller space than I expected. Glad I made reservation as there were parties waiting outside, as again there was barely much space inside. Service was good.

Delicious slow cooked Pork. So happy they had info on the table regarding the 'pink' pork. It looks undercooked, but it's cooked just right. This was an amazing tonkatsu meal. We don't get to Hell's Kitchen very often, but I'd trek across from the east side to eat here again.

Lunch menu was great. Got the Miso Katsu Don Set. Very reasonably priced at $20. Tasted great.

Visited Friday night for dinner, the restaurant wasn't completely full but there seemed to be a office gathering happening. There were two waiters working, which I felt was understaffed since it took a while for our food to come. The food itself was fine, I think its quite expensive for what it was. I got the pork fatback which was on the chewier side, but it was the specialty since I haven't seen this at any other katsu places. Overall, it was just fine

Ah, is there a word in English that encompasses brain and mouth-meltingly delicious? I guess we'll just need to illustrate how crazy the prime rib katsu really is. The meat melts, the crust is light and the sauce/salt condiments are just perfect. Also? The rice bangs, bro. Not even a little mushy or overcooked. I think their beef is well-polished and the real highlight of the meal. The pork loin was also good, though definitely less tender and juicy. I might try the fatback if I get the chance to return. Check out this gem ASAP!

Had high expectation seeing the overwhelming reviews and photos so was a little bit below my 5 star rating. The slow cooked pork fatback was definitely special and juicy, but to me it lacks some fragrance (the dipping sauce and sesame kind of made up for it). I like the beef curry rice but honestly 6 small beef cubes are not very generous… Overall tasty but wish it could worth more!

My boyfriend and I absolutely love this place! We ordered the addictive cucumber, roast beef sushi, pork loin, breaded deep fried pork cutlet donburi as well as white rice and a Sapporo draft on the side. I don't even like cucumber but this was pretty good. The roast beef sushi was only two pieces but it was also good. But the star of the show... was the pork loin! It was soooo tender, juicy, and delicious I almost didn't want to finish it so I could save it. This was hands down the most authentic and best pork loin I've ever had in NYC. It's served with potato salad, tomato, cucumber, and shredded cabbage with the dressing... amazing. It pairs so well with white rice and a beer on the side. 10/10 would highly recommend this place!

Husband approved! I was just searching one day for some japanese/katsu places in NY and I'm glad to have come across this place! We just had to get their lunch set! Price, taste, and atmosphere were so vibes, love it. The size of the lunch meal was perfect with some soup and salad, but I also had fun with the set up they had. Service was quick (we did come through 1 hour after opening) and comforting as the staff was very nice and checked up on us. Just know that whenever we fly into NY this will be a spot added each time to visit.

Stopped by for lunch and had their tonkatsu lunch special with fatback. Delicious! Every condiment had its place, and the wait staff was incredibly kind and patient even though I came in 30 before the kitchen closed. The soup was delicious, the vibes were way chiller than I remembered. Fatback katsu was tender and crunchy, salad dressing was also really good, and as aforementioned every condiment had a purpose which I love.

This place has it all--almost. Good service, good + clean vibes, very Japanese, good portion sizes, and fair pricing... it's just that some dishes were just alright. I do realize that the ingredients were pretty good quality though. I think it might be a personal taste thing since I didn't like the curry that I ordered. It had a very strong tomato and spicy flavor. The pork katsu that it came with was decent though not extremely crispy. Props to this place for the good service and large portion sizes though! I also liked the pork cutlet donburi, which was like an egg and soy sauce rice bowl that came with pork katsu that my sister ordered. They did a great job getting the flavors right! I'm also a big fan of their lunch specials. For $20, you choose an entree and it comes with a few sides such as Japanese potato salad and vegetables. Very filling and there's a good chance you'll even have leftovers!

Pork meats are sooo fat, I couldn't eat the meats at all, and it's not crispy, and it's a bit pricey, the desert is fine.
