I was born and raised in East Harlem and I moved out to Florida. Every time I come back, I end up at Smashiess for the HAM AND CHEESE MAYONNAISE HOT. 4 bucks now. I remember the 2.25 when the spot was across the street. You're not going to get a better pressed sandwich for the price. Plus it's official Spanish style press, nice and flat, melted cheese perfectly. Not that downtown, panini press for 17 bucks that can't hold a candle to this sandwich. Found this legit sandwich spot on google after searching reviews and it did not disappoint! This spot is a local favorite and serves delish pressed sandwiches. And the guy running it was so sweet and helpful! Make sure you have cash- it's cash only- and enjoy!
