We had a wonderful event at For U, the food is absolutely delicious, I keep thinking about the cucumber salad it’s so crunchy and tastes so good, the sesame noodles are flavorful and so good, delicate and delicious version of that dish, the best I have ever had. And the Peking duck is divine. It’s a wonderful place for a party, they work with you to make it really special. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the space is warm and beautiful. We had a wonderful time and will go back for dinner very soon.Dietary restrictions: Our event served vegan and vegetarian options as well as standard fare

The steamed fish is a bit old, the vegetables are just mediocre, the lobster is not well-killed and has a bit of a smell. I recommend the spicy hotpot, the braised mutton pot, there are many choices of glutinous rice balls and dumplings, and the sweet-scented osmanthus cake is not recommended and is very ordinary.

Every morsel of New Years dinner was perfect. Even the cold crumbs remaining after making Peking duck buns were juicy and flavorful. The soup accompanying the duck was impeccable and generously portioned. Sautéed green beans were super tender without being mushy and overdone. And far from gouging us for the favor of seating us on the holiday, the price of the duck was cut $10 in observance of the New Year. Lovely casual and welcoming vibe makes me resolve to sample the rest of the menu.Vegetarian options: Sautéed garlic string beans are a must, I expect pea shoots are stellar.

Another great time at For U. Sundays they have 50% dim sum so we got two soup dumplings orders (total of 8) for only like $9. Our waiter also recommended this off-menu dish that was like a lamb rib spicy hotpot. Really delicious and flavorful. And then we got our regular favorites like the beef in chili oil, pea shoots, and mixed fried rice. All were DANK and FRESHHH

BIG HIT!!! Disclaimer: I'm a huge sucker for dry pepper chicken. Dry pepper chicken (6/5): Again, huge sucker for dry pepper chicken. The chilis are spicy and deep with flavor, the chicken and batter is savory and crunchy. Could be spicier, but it had a nice kick. So irresistible over a bowl of rice. Sizzling black pepper beef (5/5): The beef is so tender, all toughness eliminated. The sauce is not the traditional black pepper sauce I thought it would be, there is a delightful sweetness to the sauce, so delicious! The onions who have soaked up the sauce and beef juices from above and caramelizing sauce from below are always the best part of this dish. Would've been nice if the onions were a bit less raw so it can pick up even more of that delicious caramelized sauce. Pagoda pork with preserved vegetables (5/5): First time I've had this monument of a dish. Not an easy dish to make, very impressive! The pork belly was cooked perfectly, had a good balance between lean and fat that gave it a delicious richness as well as meaty taste. The sauce and 没干菜 (preserved vegetables) are classic. All combined in a fluffy bao and it's like heaven. Sautéed romaine lettuce (4/5): Eh it's lettuce. White rice (5/5): I don't normally comment on a bowl of white rice, but for some reason this white rice felt special. It tasted a little buttery, like it was dipped in some animal fat. In any case, this white rice made all the dishes feel richer.

Wow. This restaurant was so unassuming, I would have walked right past if not for the recommendation of a colleague who works in the area. I'm very glad we visited. Impeccably clean inside, it's somehow a stylish mix of a classic Chinese restaurant and an iconic NYC diner. As soon as we walked in, it smelled delicious, and just got better from there. The menu isn't long by Chinese restaurant standards, but our party loved everything we ordered, from old standards like general's chicken and black pepper beef, to an outstanding tofu dish that left our mouths numb in a good way. Everything came out steaming hot, too, which was welcome on a rainy night.Vegetarian options: Not everything was vegetarian, but it was the vegetarian member of our party who recommended this restaurant

About as good as it gets for authentic Chinese food. Everything we sampled was delicious and full of flavor. Lots of options from dumplings, fried rice, chicken and plenty of Vegan options. They were super accommodating in adding tofu to just about any dish. Favorites were the Shredded Chicken in Garlic sauce as well as the Egg Plant in Garlic sauce. We added Tofu to the eggplant for extra protein. The soup dumplings were top notch as well. Fried rice was perfect and yummy. Service was friendly and fast.

We happened to be on the east side and decided to stop in for lunch, since their prices looked appealing. The interior is well decorated and clean, and the staff were friendly, and most importantly, the food was incredible! We ordered the Dan Dan noodle, chili beef and tripe, kungpao chicken, and the complimentary pork soup dumplings for new customers. Everything was incredible and SPICY (definitely order rice to eat with everything!). We'd both had some bad Dan Dan noodles in the city and this was certainly not one of them. The noodles were chewy and cooked perfectly, and the sauce had a lovely peanut flavor and great spice. The chili beef and tripe was delicious as well, with the classic numbing flavor from the sichuan peppercorns, and the portion was very generous for the price. We packed leftovers and were convinced that they added extra to our takeout container. The kungpao chicken was very tasty, and a welcome break for the spice (though it was also a bit spicy). The soup dumplings were also great, and though the skin is just slightly thick, the soup and filling were very tasty. (The order came with four, but we ate two before I remembered to take a picture). We highly recommend visiting For U, and looking forward to going back soon to try other dishes!

What a great find. We were looking for authentic Chinese food and this is what we found. The service was very attentive and we felt like welcome guests. We ordered wonton soup, dumplings, kung pao shrimp and shrimp and cashiers. all were excellent. we will certainly return.

The food is absolutely good and authentic, they made everything right. When I first stepped in the restaurant I saw all the customers were non-Chinese and I was a little bit worried lol, because usually they don't like the authentic Chinese food. However, it turned out that everything is great, even the rice is the good rice, not the cheap rice. It is a little pricy though, the portion is small, I would say this is almost a $$$ restaurant.
